How to clean the throttle body and the idle air control valve

I typically remove them to clean but they can be cleaned on the car. Get throttle body cleaner from the store and spray all over. Manually open the butterfly valve and wipe after. I would take the idle air control vavle off to clean it.

If it was not diassembled once off the TBI, it should be reinstalled to the orignal position/gasket seat. The engine computer controls the location of the plunger itself based on a number of inputs.

Did you clean out intake and spray throttle body with cleaner? I has the same problem, removed intake manifold and cleaned out goop that was preventing the recirculation of air in the engine. Try to google the problem. I found instructions and a pictorial.

Where is the idle air control sensor locatyed at on a 2003 ford escort zx2

The idle air control vavle is located on the driver side of the intake manifold, below the throttle body. You'll have to remove the air intake to see it. It is held there by two bolts.

Need help identifying a problem

Is there a yellow check engine light on? Do you hear any vaccum leaks? Most causes are a faulty throttle position sensor AKA TP Sensor. But it also could be the idle control vavle is gummed up.

Truck idles in park but drops to about 500rpms and lower if idling in drive and dies.

sounds like the idle air control vavle. when you put a load on the engine such as putting it in gear or using the ac or turning sharply, the iac is suppose to let more air in so the engine will idle up a little. if its stuck and you load the engine by pulling it in gear it will let the idle drop and possibly die.

Audi a4 2003 2.4 v6 surging slightly under low acceleration

it could be a dirty IAC (idle air control vavle.) Take of the air duct work from the throttle body. Using a good cleaner or enginr Top cleaner.Run the car at about 1000 RPMs spary the cleaner directly into the IAC which is located right straight in the throttle body.turn engine off. let the cleaner sit for a few miniutes. then repeat procedure. if that does not work, remove the vavle and spray cleaner directly into the two holes on the valve.
