2010 Chrysler Town and country van. The key fob will not go into ignition. Tried both key fobs. They will also not open the doors remotely. Could it be a week or dead battery?

One of two things happened. First possibility the battery is dead. Second possibility is the key became unprogramed

2010 Chrysler Town and Country key fob programming. I only have one working key fob and I’d like to program a temporary new one as it’s expensive to go through dealer. I only need locks etc working not...

You will only be able to get a key cut that will work ONLY in the key slot in the door NOT your remote central locking! Most good key cutting stores will be able to cut you a "dead" key for unlocking just the doors in an emergency.
Your key fob has a hidden emergency key built into it. Remove it completely from your key chain ring, slide the ribbed slider on the face of the fob and slide out the metal key from the key ring end. (See photo). Get this bit cut if your wanting an emergency key.

Why will my key fob not go into the ignition switch on my 2010 Chrysler Town and country van. tried both key fobs

If you are certain the keys are correct, the reason can only be a fault - either with the lock barrel, such as something broken inside or a foreign body preventing key insertion, or the steering lock has failed to fully engage the last time you withdrew the key. The key often can't be fully reinserted unless the lock has fully engaged and allowed the barrel holder to "pop out" that millimetre or so that disengages it when the lock is fully locked.

Depending on the problem, depends on what action to take. Any problem usually signals the end of reliability and replacement is due even if it is temporarily made to work again with the aid of judicial tapping (column shroud removed), penetrating oil and compressed air while rocking the steering wheel...

My 2004 Town and country van had to be jump started and now key fob won't lock or unlock doors.Took key fob to locksmith he said key fob was working, van was not reading signal and he didn't know what

The fob may need to be reprommed to the car. Do the following:

Grab your working remote. Push the LOCK button five times, allowing exactly two seconds to pass between each press of the LOCK button. Insert the ignition key and turn it to RUN. Push and hold UNLOCK on the working remote for 6 seconds. Push and hold PANIC for one second while continuing to hold UNLOCK. Release both buttons at the same time.
Push any button on the remote to program it. Then push any button on the remote that was already programmed. It has to be reprogrammed. The remote is now programmed to the vehicle. Turn the key to OFF.

Have you you tried just re-programming all of your remotes? I just added a "new" (from Ebay) remote and when re-programming, had to do them all. Here's how... 1. Using a functional key fob transmitter, unlock the vehicle and disarm the Vehicle Theft Security System. 2. Insert ignition key into the ignition switch. 3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN position without starting engine. 4. Using a functional key fob transmitter, press and hold the UNLOCK button for a minimum four seconds (maximum ten seconds) 5. While holding UNLOCK button, and before ten seconds passes, press and release the PANIC button. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module is set to receive the new Vehicle Access Code(s) 6. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons on the transmitter at the same time. Then press any one of the buttons. The BCM will sound an abbreviated chime to acknowledge that the programming of the transmitter has been completed and was successful. 7. Repeat step 6 for all transmitters that will be used with this vehicle (up to 4 total) 8. Programming mode will last for 30 seconds. To get out of programming mode sooner, turn the ignition OFF. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module will no longer accept additional Vehicle Access Code(s) 9. When Vehicle Access Code(s) programming is complete, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and verify RKE system operation using each key fob

Door locks

Daughter had same problem on '05 T&C. Neighborhood mechanic searched Internet and found 80-90 others with same problem right around 40,000 miles. Free solution was to pull yellow 20A IOD fuse in right front corner of fuse box under hood, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert fuse. Should solve problem as long as you don't lock doors with FOB. You can unlock doors with FOB, but apparently locking with FOB causes the problem.

Permanent solution is to have dealer reprogram computer for around $50 which is what my daughter chose to do because of inconvenience of not being able to lock doors with FOB when getting baby/carseat out of vehicle.
