Not sure on the LeSabre but on some ford products the fuel pump impeller is made of plastic ..its located inside the tank .. it depends on the gas to keep it cool ... when you run out of gas the pump keeps running as long as the ignition is on ..it will run until it melts the impeller and freezes the pump .. a new fuel pump is expensive .. my neighbor burned up 4 of them until someone finally told her to never let it get low on gas (she always ran it till the last drop) .. of course you might have picked up some junk at the bottom of the tank that has clogged your fuel filter (you hope .. much less cost) .. check the fuse for the fuel pump also and there may be a fuel pump relay .. wilth the proper equipment you can do a fuel pump pressure check..
your problem is not likely ignition unless you had to jump the car and got the polarity backwards .. that could damage the ignition computer ..

I know that in older cars you have to pump the gas peddle for a few minutes to get the gas from the tank to the engine, since you used up all the gas in the system.
Or, it could be that some debris from the bottom of the fuel tank got sucked up into the fuel lines, in which case you may have to replace the fuel filter.

So the engine wont crank over at all? Did you check all your fuses? Are you sure you have plenty of juice in the battery?

92 buick lesabre ran great to store, when leaving, starting car resultedin chuging and popping noise, then fail to start. very good cranking speed. lots of gas in tank. i hear fuel pump operating, and gas...

I would recommend that you check to see if you are getting spark from the coil/coil packs. If this is not the issue, then you may be looking at a timing problem.

95 buick stalled out on very hot day

could be another failed pump...it happens sometimes...check filter and test for pump operation...however best time to test is when it's in "no start" condition.(testing while working tells you it's working, not what's happening when it's not)

2000 buick lesabre ran out of gas

Electric fuel pumps are known for burning out if you run them out of gas, pull the fuel line at the trottle-body, have someone turn the key on and see if you get fuel-flow, you may also check the fuel pump fuse and relay to make sure they are good.
