I would simply recommend just going to an autoparts store and buying new gas shock replacements and take care of the problem. I would not mess with the old ones. I did find them at autozone.com Instead of them calling them gas shocks that actually refer to them as mighty lift/support lifts. The ones I looked up were $24.99. May depend on your model of Trailblazer, but this is just a ball park price. Hope this helps you.

2005 chevy trailblazer ext back hatch lock is engaged and will not open leaving the door unable to close

Open the hatch and slip a screwdriver's shaft into the opening of the latch (simulating that the latch has engaged the metal bar on the floor of the SUV). Apply pressure in the latch via the shaft of the screwdriver. While pulling against the latch, operate the unlock button of the fob or unlock with the key (whichever your truck has). When it is unlocked the latch will allow the screwdriver to open the jaws of the latch and pull through them. The latch jaws should now be open and you should be able to close the hatch and have it latch and lock.

You might want to replace the two holding levers positioned on the left and right side of the hatchback door.

2005 ford freestyle hatch will not stay up can it be the hatch struts? If so can I replace them myself?

YES, most likely the struts on the rear hatch door have become weak. YES, you can replace them rather easily. you will need a flat tip srewdriver to pry the old one off and someone or something to hold the door up while snapping the new on into place on each side.

How do I install a right rear light t assembly??

Open the hatch. On the door jam at the light assembly there are two screws, these may be cover with a plug. Or they may be plugs them selves that hold in the assembly. I have seen both. remove them and pull the assembly out. the is a clip that holds in one side , so just pull a little harder to get it out.

I have a 2005 trailblazer and tonight the check engine light came on and stays on then will start flashing. It sounds like there is a miss also...what could be causing this. Did not do it until tonight

you're are correct about the misfire, as a blinking light indicates a severe misfire. wires plugs and coils will have to be checked. if the wires and plugs haven't been changed for a while, change them. if that solves the problem, you got off easy. if it doesn't, you might have to replace the coils. you should have the code read. to find out what cylinder/s are missing spark. in the case of random misfires, vacuum leaks are normally the cause. read more on misfires

Power back door works with remote, but won't stay open

how are3 the gas cylinders...are they supporting the weight of the hatch?
if there is a leak the cylinder cannot support the weight of the hatch itself causing it to sit back down and lock the hatch again.
