Loosen the rad/coolant overflow bottle cap (WHEN COLD ONLY) to remove pressure build up in the cooling system to reduce coolant leakage until you can get it fixed.

SOURCE: chevy tahoe 2002 low coolant light is on. where do you add it

Chevy as most GM cars usually needs Dex-cool antefreeze
But Peak is OK as it can be used to top-off any color of automotive antifreeze including green, yellow, orange, fuschia, blue and red
More info here
http://www.peakantifreeze.com/peak_global_lifetime_5050.html
Also check the system for leaks. If you need to add coolant at least once a month there is a leak.
Good Luck

SOURCE: 2003 CHEVEY BLAZER POOR GAS MILAGE Just tuned up ,

What grade of fuel are you using? There are many conditions that effect gas mileage. The way a vehicle is driven, is it shifting correctly, flooring it to get up to speed from dead stop also known as Jack Rabbit starts, driving with the defroster on when it isn't needed or the setting just above that can be used. Back in the 90's most car manufacturers made a change to their heating.cooling system that caused the AC compressor to kick in when the selector was set to defrost. This puts drag on teh motor and decreases gas mileage. Build up on valves and low compression in the firing cylinders will cause you to lose gas mileage as well. Do a compression check on the motor to make sure you don't have abnormally high compression or low compression on cylinders and use a bottle of gas treatment in your fuel to clean some of the carbon build up from injectors and valves. Also start using the Mid grade fuel. Not the High Octane in your area. In Texas we typically have 3 choices 87, 89 and 93 to choose from. Low grade is enough to run the vehicle but performance is low as well as mileage. I use the 89 octane for better performance and better mileage. The High Octane or 93 isn't really good as it leads to higher carbon build up on the valves. Also check your oil often and make sure your changing it every 4000 miles at the longest. All of this along with making sure you change the Air Filter every 5000 miles will increase your mileage.

Never add just water, you can use 50/50 ,or mix 1 gallon regular antifreeze with a gallon of distilled water to get 2 gals of 50/50.

On the 4 cylinder you will need 1 1/4 gallons of antifreeze mixed with an equal amount of distilled water for a 50/50 mix. On the V6 you will need 1 5/8 gallons of antifreeze mixed with an equal amount of distilled water for a 50/50 mix. Make sure and use the correct type antifreeze.

How many liter antifreeze need my car ford windstarLX?

Real easy one. Look in your owners manual. You will only need about one gallon antifreeze. Mix 50/50 with water. Then if you drained it all just add your mixed coolent till full, engine running, hot, thermostat open and open air bleed if you have one after you replace radiator cap

2002 Impala just bought toay running hot not quite

The cooling system may need to be serviced which is one of the things that is never done. The orange antifreeze has a life of 5 years and 150,000 miles and if it has never been flushed out, there may some crystal formation causing a restricted flow of antifreeze through the system. Try flushing out the cooling system with Preston radiator flush, use the dry power flush rather then the one from the bottle. Follow the instructions and replace the antifreeze with a 50/50 (water/antifreeze) mix, if you not sure how to mix it. You can buy them premixed 50/50. Too much water will boil over and too much antifreeze will gel up causing overheating. If you like you can replace the thermostat too, but that's not that easy on the 3.4 liter engines. If you go to Auto Zone you can pick up the antifreeze, radiator flush, and thermostat with the step by step instructions needed to get the job done. Keep me posted, be glad to answer any other questions you may have and good luck friend.

2005 hyundai sonata is running hot while sitting at stop lights

Check your fuse and relay to the radiator fan, There going to be high amp fuse so most likely will be in the fuse box by the battery. If the fuse and relay is good, check the wire harness connection at the fans. The other thing to is to run the engine and turn on your A/C, the A/C should over ride the switch and turn on the fans. If the fans do turn on, inspect the radiator fluid, make sure it's at it's level and if it's never been serviced. It may be time, Orange antifreeze has a life of 150,000 miles or 5 years and the green antifreeze has a life of 30,000 miles and 1 year. The thermostat may also gone bad but i don't think at this case since your car only heats up while your stopped. If everything is working (fan) just replace the antifreeze 50/50 mix (Antifreeze/water), Water has great heat transfer but boils so antifreeze is added, and 100% antifreeze does not have great heat transfer and will gel when heated so the two have to be mixed 50/50 and if your not sure how to mix the two. You can buy them 50/50 mix and the capacity to your car total fill is 7.3 liter 4 cylinder/ 8.6 liter 6 cylinder.
