Question about 1999 Jeep Wrangler

99 Wrangler AC Fan Sometimes doesn't work

I have a 99 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0. My AC Fan will sometimes (most of the time) not come on. Sometimes I'll have the AC on driving down the road with the fan not working and just getting the air that is coming across the firewall and all of a sudden the fan just comes on. I've checked to make sure the harness is hooked up to the fan speed switch and pin one and two look like they have been melted (if you have something I can check for that let me know as well), the harness is on good, I have replaced the switch about a year ago when position 3 went out.

Well if those two pins look melted, chances are there not making a good contact connection with the other side of the connector. Make sure your ground wires are clean and tight, and you should replace those melted pins. You really cant go much further until you resolve that issue.

Try using a jumper wire. Take a piece or wire, preferably the same gauge, strip both ends, and connect one end to good wire on both sides of the melted pin. Do that for both melted pins, and see if it starts working normally again. If it does, you know right there those pins are to blame.

Flashers continually click, but they are only on when you turn them on.How do I make it stop clicking. 2000 jeep wrangler sport.

Sometimes the turn signal stalk can get dirty, causing continual or random clicking. Try spraying contact cleaner in the steering column at the base of the stalk.

2001 Jeep Wrangler heater blower stopped working

Yes I would go with the switch, BUT, does it have a resistor bank? That is, how does it reduce the speed? Many systems use resistors to lower the speed. Burnt or bad connections can cause this as well.
You can test the blower motor by connecting direct power from a source like the cigarette lighter if you are handy.
Most of the time the lower speeds konk out but the high speed continues to work this is the resistor bank that goes out.

Why does my jeep have no heat, no air condinioning

Try checking the fuse for the fan motor. If not that, sometimes fans will stop working after time. If you can locate the fan motor, knock on it, spin the fan itself. If none of that works its time to replace the fan motor.

Jeep blinker and radio stop

u have the gremlins...they are electronic demons that devour logical mechanisms. Proceed to the garage and ask for a quarentine. Sounds like a short, but probably is not...perhaps a relay...maybe the computer. Try testing all the electronics in the cab...and then check fuses and relays...then if all that is fine...take to a mechanic and ask for a computer inspection...I read a thread on a forum that said that the computers in the 99 wrangler might have had a bad batch program in it that cause the lights to malfunction on the dash but what is a blinker...and a radio, a electronic.

Will idle high sometimes up to 3000 rpms when driving or sitting still

I have the same Jeep and same problem. The engine was running rough. The Jeep dealer fixed a vacum problem in the manifold and they then decarbonized and cleaned the fuel injectors. After these repairs the idle problem began, it would spike to 2000 rpm while sitting at idle, sometimes it would slowly come down, sometimes I would have to tap the accelerator. I took it back in and they then replaced the throttle motor and reprogrammed the PCM (Power Control Module?) Still same problem. Now they suspect a another vacuum leak and I am taking it back in on Tuesday, will let you know what happens, $ 1,300 so far.
