If you have a security system in the car, likely it is the problem. If the engine starts then immediately shuts down, the chip in the ignition tumbler likely has failed or needs to be re-set. To see if you have that chip, remove steering wheel column cover...if the actual lock tumbler has a small black wire coming out of it, there is a chip.
To re-set, turn key on so security light flashes and leave it till the light stops flashing.
Don't forget...I'm here and you are there...I can only give you the best possible "educated guess" whereas, in person, I would do testing with meters etc and may determine that there is a better solution. It doesn't take a lot of effort to check this though and it may save you a lot of time.
Good luck

Could you be a little more specific as to what your problem is ? Based on what I read, even after you replaced the fuel pump and sensor, you still are not able to get your car started. What else have you done to your car ? Do you have any codes ?

My 2002 Pontiac grand am will turn over but will not start

You may have an issue with the Passlock Security system. If the key security code is not read when the key is inserted, the Passlock system de-activates the fuel pump. Many GM vehicles are on a recall list at this time due to such problems. The earlier models started about 2001 and goes to about 2009. Other possible problems could be ...No fuel in the tank, a bad fuel pump, or even a bad ignition module. Check the things you can check, and for the others you will need a mechanic. Best Wishes

If this car uses an electrically heated O2 sensor, the heater portion may be bad. If the car has a lot of miles, the O2 sensor may be getting bad also.

Could be a faulty engine coolant sensor but there are other things it could be as well. Might be fuel pump and or relay, fuel filter, vacuum leak, gas cap, might be ignition components(p/u coil, coil, plugs, wires). Take a look at the cars maintenance history and if the engine light comes on while this problem occurs, have it read. It might help you or put you in the right direction.
