Heater not blowing hot air

I have flushed the heater core, changed to a new 195 thermostat and put on a new radiator cap also i think the heater control valve is working due to the different sound in the air flow when switched to hot

Sounds like a blend door problem... find lever to blend door disconnect it move lever back and forth and see if it changes anything...

air in the system. or dirty blocked radiator and heater cores. put a radiator flush in it. run it for 20 miles then drain it. refill with 50/50 mix of antifreeze .now bleed it. this is done by turn your heater on full.with the expansion bottle cap off .run the engine till water getting hot . with finger and thumb push in the hose to push air out of the radiator hose into the expansion bottle .then refit the cap.

The heater isn't putting out hot air


check to see if there is plenty of antifreeze in radiator , may have a air bubble in system .

I filled the cooling system and my 97 ram still wants to run hot over 200


when was the last time you changed out your thermostat and what temperature thermostat did you put in if it was 195 degree your not running to hot at 200 did you flush out your system clean it real good.
check your drive belt (fan) not worn out or to loose for water pump, radiator core blocked or grille dirty, buy or have radiator cap tested it must maintain radiator pressure also check ignition timing.

Heater dont blow hot air even after it gets warm


mine was same way for a year... tried several things but finally we disconnected hoses under hood and flushed out heater and now works good as new...... hope it helps

No heat , replaced radiator , water pump, rad. cap , hoses and flushed system twice.blows cool air.whats left?


Thermostat.? if you haven't? Do it first then try it. While the car is running for a while touch the heater hoses that lead to the firewall. if one is cold and one is hot? You have a blocked Heater core. Follow the hoses back to the engine. Unconnect them both. By using a garden hose flush out the heater core do one side and then reverse by doing the other hose Lots of junk will come out so be care ful. Mistake people make is "Flushing the system" That doesn't mean your flushing the heater core.
Seeing that you have done everything else it could be the thermostat which you didn't list or the heater core being clogged. When you finished installing the thermostat and flushing the heater core out. Replenish the coolant system . If you have a bleeder on the thermostat housing? use it . loosen it and top off the fluid until you see fluid comeout of the bleeder. The system being air bound would cause no heat..

2001 plymouth neon heater won't blow hot air. only cold. we have changed thermostat, radiator cap and flushed radiator. not odor through vents or leaks on floor board(heater core)


There is a problem with your climate control. It is not allowing the vent to open that allows air to pass through the radiator.

I put stop leak in radiator and now the car blows cold air vs hot air when running the heater. why?


The stop leak have restricted the coolant flow to your heater core. You can try flushing out the Stop leak with Preston Radiator flush or replace the heater core. Once Cooling system flushed out, replace thermostat, radiator cap and repair coolant leak. Good luck and hope this helps, and Note: Common Black kitchen Pepper does great as a radiator stop leak without leaving any residue and can be cleaned out of the system with water and not coolant flush. Two table spoon is more then enough to stop a small leak. Good luck and keep me posted friend.

The heat in my 1992 Jeep Wangler is not working.


The only reason it won't blow hot air is because the water is not getting to the heater core. Check to see if you have a heater control valve in one of the two lines to the heater core. If so check to be sure that is is opening and closing. If it won't open then you get no water flow in to the heater core.

Engine overheats when heater pipes connected


I think you could be right about there being air trapped in the system.
Or the heater core(radiator) is plugged.
Either way you need a pressurized radiator coolant pump to put the coolant in without air being trapped.
Although,i have seen it done by jacking the vehicle up high enough that the radiator was now higher than the heater core level, and then the coolant was put in.
But this is dangerous to try.

Cooling & heating?


as a test, restrict a good portion of front of radiator with cardboard. is the engine running at 195 degrees? if engine temp is good, verify that both heater hoses going to heater core are hot. maybe heater control valve.
