My 2003 chevrolet trailblazer is idleing rough when stopped

My 2003 chevrolet trailblazer with an inline 6 is idleing rough when stopped ever since i had someone change my oil

    the oil level is fine and it was a normal oil change place it was newer though it replaced the jiffy lube that used to be there

I would start by checking the oil level. See where it is at. Did you have the oil changed by a reputable oil change place or dealership? Let me know if the oil is at the correct level on the dipstick and we can go from there.

Where is the distributor cap located


The Trailblazer does not have a distributor cap if you have an inline 6 cylinder. They have a direct injection with a coil on each plug and control from the PCM.

you just need clean ignition system. it may have some water in it.

Where is the thermostat on a 2003 Trailblazer LTZ with an inline 6


it is located on drivers side of engine,below alternator the housing is held on by two ten mm bolts. i go thru the wheel well opening to replace with truck in air on lift if this is not option may need to remove alternator to gain access

more than likely a vacuum leak get a can of carb cleaner and spray around intake gaskets throttle body vacuum hoses if idle rises or stumbles you have leak in that place

2004 Chevy Trailblazer idles rough. Idles ok when started up, but after warmed up it idles really rough when stopped.


If it has not pulled any codes (idiot light). Clean your throttle body, and change your spark plugs with A/C Delcos #41-103, most other brands will cause rough idle like Autolites and Bosch. This would be a cheap way to fix this problem.

If by chance you have just recently changed the battery or had the battery unhooked. Let me know, it's an easier fix that costs virtually nothing.

it could be an o2 sensor. it could also just need a tune up
