If you pull your cluster out of the dash, take the rear case cover off and you will see many fuses, some are just coroded away, others are jut full of dust and grime, use alchohol to clean them and they should work, however, if they are coroded, you can either replace them (good luck finding them) OR just resolder them with LEAD FREE solder

My mph, gas, and temp gauges are not working

That's why you don't let you husband work on your car ! Unless he does it for a living .. For MPH there is a VSS - vehicle speed sensor , for the gas there is a sending unit in the fuel tank, for the temp. gauge there is a temp. sensor located in coolant stream on the engine .You more then likely need to have you instrument cluster repaired . GM had a problem with step motors inside the instrument cluster . A step motor is what controls the individual gauge. The sensors are all inputs to the PCM - powertrain control module (engine computer ) .
Engine Coolant Temperature Gage
The IPC displays the engine coolant temperature as determined by the PCM. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the engine coolant temperature. The engine coolant temperature gage defaults to C or below if:
?€¢
The PCM detects a malfunction in the engine coolant temperature sensor circuit.

?€¢
The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM.

Fuel Gage
The IPC displays the fuel level as determined by the PCM. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the fuel level percent. The fuel gage defaults to empty if:
?€¢
The PCM detects a malfunction in the fuel level sensor circuit.

?€¢
The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM.

When the fuel level is less than 14% (84ohms), the low fuel indicator illuminates.
Odometer
The IPC contains a season odometer and a trip odometer. Momentarily press the trip select/reset switch in order to toggle between the season odometer and the trip odometer. Press the trip select/reset switch for greater than 1.5 seconds, while the trip odometer is displayed, in order to reset the trip odometer. The IPC displays the vehicle mileage and trip mileage as determined by the IPC. The IPC calculates the mileage based on the vehicle speed information from the PCM. The odometer will display 'error' if an internal IPC memory failure is detected.
PRNDL Display
The IPC displays the selected gear position as determined by the PCM. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the gear position. The PRNDL display shall flash all gear positions if:
?€¢
The PCM detects a malfunction in the transmission range switch circuit.

?€¢
The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM.

Speedometer
The IPC displays the vehicle speed based on the information from the PCM. The PCM converts the data from the vehicle speed sensor to a 4000 pulses per mile signal. The IPC uses the vehicle speed signal circuit from the PCM in order to calculate the vehicle speed. The speedometer defaults to 0 mph (0 kph) if a malfunction in the vehicle speed sensor circuit exists.
Tachometer
The IPC displays the engine speed as determined by the PCM. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the engine speed. The tachometer will default to 0 rpm if:
?€¢
The PCM detects a malfunction in the engine speed sensor circuit.

?€¢
The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM.

Digital mileage display not fully displaying some digits. Need help.

You will need to remove the display from the car and send it out for repair and then don't let this same mechanic touch it again. Contact the dealer near you for the name and phone number of the shop that repairs there electronics from Toyota vehicles.

I have a 99 Plymouth Grand Voyager and the dash keeps going out. No RPM gauge, no MPH, no Temp, no Gas gauges. Also cannot see the mileage. My ABS, check engine soon, and brake light are also stuck on. ...

Google : Dodge cluster solder, in google images. Or have a look at earlier posting by another Fixya expert.

How do you replace the dash light bulbs in a 1992 Ford Ranger XLT

remove the plastic shrowd on the dash by taking out the screws in the instrament display and the ones under the radio and temp controls. take out the ashtray and remove the two screws there. take off the light nob and gently pull the panel off once you have removed all the screws. you will then have the access needed to get to the lights.

Instrument panel went dead

Checked Every fuse in the fuse box (no small task). This includes #4 - Power point Instrument Panel, #14 - Day time running lamps (auto lamps doesn't work nor does auto lock), #27 - ignition switch run feed, #35 - Instrument Cluster, #41 - Instrument Cluster, #42 - Delayed Accessory, #45 - Ignition switch run/start feed, #102 - Door locks body security module, #103 - Ignition switch, #110 - Ignition switch, & #116 - Ignition switch. But I also check all other ones as well, they all register OK. AC panel & radio work. Turn signals work. Mileage does not work, trip computer does. So, basically, everything works except auto head-lights, auto locks, and the dash cluster (no MPH, RPM, mileage display, Fuel, Temp, Tran Temp, and Oil Pressure).

Digital dash lights on 2001 Mercedes CLK 430 CONVERTIBLE

these displays ared l.c.d. displays and what happens is over time the vacuum pack on the crystal element ruptures and get air in the tube and that part of the display is ruined permanently.I'm not sure if your saying that there are pieces missing or if the whole display is blank. If there are peices missing the only way to fix it is to repkace the instrument cluster. If they are blank it is very likley it is either the backlighting bulb or the dimmer switch. If you take a blanket and cover your display and can see the display very dimmly try replacing your back lighting bulbs- hopefully it is just your backlighting because the clusters are about 1,000 dollars and have to be special ordered with your mileage engraved in the new unit.
