Has a problem with throttle by wire system either tac motor or peddle postion sensor. there is a TSB for theese trucks if it has a ladder rack or uttility body try grounding to frame of truck bwith a ground strap. and clear the codes. there is also a reflash for ecm depending on vechile speed when code/codes set. it will not go over 1500 rpm or 20 mph due to the fact the ecm does not know where the throttle plate is. best bet is take it to a reputable service gararge

Hello ncfordham... I suggest you get your engines PCM scanned to determine what is wrong with it... It may be a TPS issue .
If the accelerator pedal position does not coincide with the throttle position then the PCM stores a code for this and limits throttle travel with the reduced power message...A plugged cat. converter, or a clogged air filter, will also trigger it.
Good luck...i hope this helps, please rate me a fixya.

F22a engine produces strange noise most obvious at 2000 rpm, what could the problem be?

Without a general description of what the noice sounds like, squeal as compared to knocking, it is impossible to help you. Engines make a lot of different noises, so try and help by describing noise. I would suspect it is belt related, or tension pulley related as these are RPM variable noises, belts tend to slip when you accelerate and can be quite loud with a serpentine belt as example.

Have a 1999 GMC Yukon 4wheel drive how do you get the transmission out of safe mode

There are 2 conditions that will trigger this SAFE MODE that the engine is running in. The first is transmission over temperature when the sensor in the transmission senses over-temp situation it reduces engine output to no more than 1500 rpm. The second is low oil level in the engine, which will also limit engine rpm to 1500. One of those sensors is bad or the wiring for one of them is damaged. This SAFE MODE is designed to protect the engine or transmission from further damage.

RPM INCREASES, GAS PEDAL HARD TO PUSH,LOSE ALITTLE POWER ON INCLINE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON THEN RESETS AND CLEARS.

i think this vehicle uses a fly by wire throttle operation unit asnd this is whats sticking and causing the light to come on and the fluctuation in RPM ,ask a local mechanic to have a look for you to confirm my diagnosis

Reduced engine power

hi there my name is don i will try to help you on this
when your reduced engine light comes on that means there is a active fault code in one of the sensors that is cusing this
you will have to get it scanned or retreive the codes from the dash

once you shut it off and turn it back on it temporarly resets until the diagnostics go through it again and it will reduce the power to the engine
it could be something simple like a gas cap or tire pressure but you will have to get it scanned to find out
thanks
don

03 saturn L300, reduced power engine light came on

You are not the only one. Ive met a good many of Saturn owners (most were 2001 L300 drivers) but they were plagued with the problem you have and practically identical codes. The following remedies have been known to work:

1. Replacement Battery Cable
2.Replacement ECU Wiring Harness
3. Replacement of ECU

Loss of power at 2400 rpm's

Check your mass airflow meter. If it's bad, at least on my 1990 300ZX, the car won't rev over 2400RPM (it's a safeguard built into the ECU of the car). Grab one from a scrapyard and swap it in and see if that fixes the issue.
