I cant tell you what colors are what but you can find out with a cheap test light and AA battry first turn the ignition on and find a good ground.. A screw or bolt in dash that goes it to something metal and attach the non pointer end of the test light to that spot.. than touch each wire lead one at a time once you find one the test light will light.. write down the colors on a piece of paper once you find 2 or mabey 3 power wires and have written down the colors. now shut the ignition off and test thoes wires again and find the only that still has power.. that is your constant or memory lead.. the other is ignition switching.. now the other wires that did not have power.. try toucging the AAA battery to colors and listen for a speaker cherp, and continue witing doun location untill you have each speaker colors found now attach the test light to the memory wire and touch one of the last remaining wires untill you have a flash of the test light that is your ground.. If in the earler color serching you found 3 power wires than one is from the dash dimmer attach tghe test light to ground wire and find whitch of the two dims with the dash.... thats about it except finding the polarity of each speaker and that can be done by listining to it as youhook up each speaker and if base responce is going away as you hook up each one at a time than switch the wires to that speaker and you will here the bass response return

I've installed an after marker cd player and my digital display doesn't show on my climate control. How do I fix this?

You may have a bad control or while you where in the dash installing the cd player you may have cut into a wrong wire or pull a connector out a little causing it not to connect good, you will need to go back inside and check the wiring to the controls and check the wires you may have used to connect the player also make sure you didnt pop any fuses by mistake by wiring something wrong, the most common reason for a problem like this is due to connecting the light wire from the stock radio to the wrong wire, this wire is connect to lights for night driving, it lights up old radio at night for the display and i think this is your problem and may have blown the fuse, so if this is the case you will need to replace the fuse and locate that wire and disconnect it and tape it as its not used in the aftermarket radios.good luck and have a good day.

How to connect a Hyundai car radio to my Toyota ute

This is most likely impossible if either is a late model vehicle. As far as wiring you will need to cut the factory Radio harness out of the Hyundai, you will also need a wire diagram for the Hyundai. You will need to buy a harness designed to install an aftermarket head unit into the Toyota, the new harness will come with a description of which wires perform what function. You will then need to match these to the wires on the harness cut from the Hyundai using the diagram. Even if you do all this other hyundai radio will not bolt in where the factory Toyota radio was, and there is no adapter made for something like this. I would suggest just buying an aftermarket stereo. It will be MUCH easier and will almost definitely sound better than a stock Hyundai unit.

Putting a new radio in my car, need to know what color wire what.

Here is a website you can go to find which wires are which. http://www.modifiedlife.com I would also suggest going to places like Car Toys and get a wiring harness to make your installation pain free. If you have the original factory harness for the old stereo still on, all that you would have to do is connect the harness to your new radio and plug it in to the factory harness. No cutting wires necessary.

My boyfriend is trying to install a cd player in my '94 cougar and there's this big grey wire thats taped up with the smaller colored wires. he dicided to cut the little plug thng off of the grey wire and...

Generally, the way I put an aftermarket cd-player in, is to use a new 'harness adapter' that connects to the old harness and has all of the wires color coded and labeled for easy installation of a new radio using wire nuts. I wouldn't try to cut into the existing harness, without knowing what was what.

What's the 'little plug thing' off of the grey wire?

Interior dash lights

you can go to radio shack or a place that sells stereo equipment and get an installation kit and I hope he did not cut the plugs off the old radio because it would be easy all you would have to do is plug in your installation kit to your old plugs and it will tell you which wire goes where most kits are around $15.00

No you have to find out which wire is the hot 12v to the old radio. and connect it to the red 12gage wire coming from the new radio. also you could try buying a connection plug from circuit city so there is no wire cutting involved, also the old fuse could be blowen.

then you have a problem with the wires that were probably cut during that install from the previous owner, and you need to undo them and reconnect them again, cause they aren't staying connected. I am almost sure he cut something to cause this when all that needed to be done was to use a wiring connector made for his car to adapt to the new radio when it was replaced.
