I just had auto transmission changed in 94 Toyota corolla 4 cyl, before it shifted to 2nd around 20mph and high gear around 50mph, this transmission shifts to 2nd at 25mph (which I think is a little high for city driving) and to high gear at 45mph, AND when it goes into second it is a little hard and quick , not smooth, my questions, is this ok?, or do you think troubles are around corner on this one?

Did a shop do the trani ?
If so - bring it back for adjusting..
Sounds like the moulator linkage needs adjusting.. If you dont know what or where that is - I would suggest bringing it to a trianed pro..
If you do know what that is and where it is - try adjusting the adjustment on that linkage..

Toyota corolla problems

After checking the easy stuff first like low oil level, if it is high RPM(revs) & shifts hard(lurch when it does shift) then I am thinking the transmission filter & oil need to be changed. The transmission filter acts as a suction screen on an automatic transmission & as it collects contaminants to protect the inner workings of the transmission, it becomes plugged which greatly affects the ability to shift especially the high gears at faster acceleration.

Usually burnt and discolored ATF mean pump or torque converter not doing there job or bands and clutches are worn. Shift solinoid or a pressure problem is the problem with 2nd and 3rd gear, Take it to a transmission shop and have them look it over but like I said earlierdiscolored ATF could mean a rebuild.

My 1993 honda accord lx..4 cyl. 2.2 ltr auto transmission problem

It's the "shift" solenoid on your transmission has gone bad. Get it at the junk yard for around $80.00. You want the "shift" solenoid, not the "lock-up" one.You can see it on the front of your transaxle. It has a small electrical plug attached and comes off easily. Both solenoids may be together, or you may only have one. Easy fix, but depending on the doner car, your shift points may change (engine may seem racier)

A friend of mine who has looked at my car for me says it sounds like there is some kind of air leak but can't figure out where it is coming from?

1996 Corolla Auto Transmission problem

Hi. 2005 Corolla CE. It's normal. They tend to do this when upshifting form 1st to 2nd gear. No timing chain readjustment needed.

96 Corolla. Overdrive not working properly, if not engaging after 45mph constantly. If driving on the city, is normal, but not after 45mph, when the car is trying to engage overdrive in order to save gas and preserve the trans gears. If not able to get help at the dealership, find another one and explain them the situation.
