When I have to brake suddenly the car has no power to drive on

That could be any number of things. What type of vehicle? A sudden slow down but no noticeable resistant, and no top end power. My best answer would be a problem in the exhaust system causing pressure build up that would cause a lack of power but let you run at lower speeds. A sudden sense of braking would be like putting on a jake brake.

when you brake ,maybe the engine moves due to broken motor mounts, that can cause problems with or on your hoses , like .
inlet hose,vacum hose, crank case hose, and pcv hose. most like it the last one.

Could have air in the brake lines, low brake fluid level, leaking wheel cylinder. If your brake reservoir is full and has fluid, have the brakes bled of air in the system. Have brakes checked by a respectable professional before you have an accident.

With the oil light coming on and the brake pedal being hard to press I would say that the engine stopped hence no vacuum -no power assist from the booster.- hard brake pedal. The lock uo feeling may come from the engine seizing up while you were still in gear

that should not effect the driving of the car,it's do to the loss of connection in the gear shifter.

With the sudden loss in brake pressure, and the light on, I would check the fluid level and if its low, suspect a brake fluid leak, that may be the burning smell, maybe leaking near a exhaust pipe? You dont mention where you are, but if its NORTH and salt is used to get snow off the roads, brake line failures are real common.

i think your car has a shut down senser for the motor.as for the stiring never heard of that problem. it coul be part of the shut down senser
