Keeps shredding the v-belt or the main belt that runs car and leaking water from radiator

sounds like the water pump. Is the leak isolated to the radiator?? Have you checked all your pullies for damage?? Has the belt been installed to tight?? Please check parts alignment and pully conditions. What is the car exactly? Engine model etc.

With belt removed check all pulleys for looseness.it sounds like you probably have a bad water pump.

Do I have to remove the radiator in order to replace the power steering pump on my old Ford truck?

I would avoid that entire dilemma by just taking out the whole ps pump and replacing the pulley then, seems like a lot of work but it's worth it cuz the radiator removal is way more involved and more likely to cause problems with antifreeze leaks, also you probably only have to tilt the PS pump to get the pulley off so I would not disconnect the power steering hoses until I absolutely had to

I just drove my 1999 Cadillac deville 64 miles to and from destination.., went to ho jump in car to go to work, got there the temp says 250 and all kinds of water leaks out from somewhere.it just had a new...

Try checking the drivers side of the engine, there is a pulley running off the cam that runs your water pump with a small belt. Many times I have seen these things so shredded they came right off and the temp skyrockets. Also, when a motor over heats, it's like a pressure cooker...so any loose hoses, clamps ect. Will leak due to over pressure

I would look online for a diagram on how the belt is to be run around the pulleys to make sure you are running it correctly , let me asked you this is this what it did to the original belt if not it is not run correctly over the pulleys ?

How can i tell if my waterpump is bad? shut the car off and came out later to anti freeze in the driveway

If it's leaking that bad, open the hood take off radiator cap and fill with water (without making a mess and spilling a bunch. Then simply watch for where the leak is at, if it's leaking from a hose, the radiator, or from around the area where the belt is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. If it's leaking from the passenger side around the belt area your water pump is the most common cause. They are made so when the bearing wears out around the shaft the pulley bolts, it has what are called weep holes and the water just runs out to tell you to replace the water pump.
