SOURCE: replaced braked pads - now VDC and Slip Lights are on

I would take the car to almost any auto parts store and ask them to check the ODB II computer for codes and to reset the "Check engine light". Get the code that they tell you and it should go a long way to pointing you in the right direction to fixing this problem. It might also be that when you pumped the brakes that you somehow set a code in the computer from the ABS system and now that you have the brakes pumped up and working correctly resetting the Check engine light might fix your problem.

Good luck! Write back with any code you get and I'll see if I can help you figure out what the problem might be.

SOURCE: 2004 Ford Explorer ABS light stays on and 4X4 HIGH light blinks

The abs and the 4x4 should not be related. The grinding rubbing noise that you describe when you turn is consistant with the way your car would behave turning on dry pavement when the 4x4 is engaged. You very well could have a sensor problem, but it sounds like (from your description of the problem), that there is more than 1 issue. And yes, often a sensor replacement simply requires unplugging and unmounting then reversing the process. Auto Zone or Advance can sell you the part, but have them check the codes to confirm that diagnosis...(They will do that for free), they can show you how the sensor attaches and the location of the part. The 4x4 could be a selenoid or sensor related issue as well. When you go in, tell them about the 4x4 and be on the lookout for related code faults for that problem. Explorers and Sport Trac models with the push button 4x4 have a history of issues with the unit that mounts on the transfer case. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

Infiniti G35 brakes on its own and the VDC, slip, and brake lights come on

Quit guessing and have ABS codes read. Symptoms would be indicative of a bad wheel sensor which often fail with hub/CV failures.

Hyundai trijet just had abs ring changed on passenger front now abs light stays on and hand break light stays on. Help.

If a wire was broken replacing the reluctor ring, this would be the ABS light. Not the brake light. Check the brake fluid, check the E brake pedal/handle. The rings do break, I just weld them back in place. If they are gone, it gets a new axle.

Abs vdc and slip light

I think a trip to the nissan dealer may be needed. The Slip and VDC sytem is tied into the anti-lock brake system. Could be as simple as a vacuum leak or a bad check valve at the brake booster, or the ABS system could be malfunctioning.

First thing with brakes is to check the lining thickness. You can usually see the fronts through the wheel, or look underneath. If you have drum brakes in the back there may be a rubber inspection plug.

But if linings are ok, another risk is wheel bearings. You would then feel it as a vibration in pedal, and through steering wheel if a front bearing.

With the light, have the ABS code read with a ODBCII module. Autozone can do this for free.

You had to leave something out, or you got a pad in backwards. The right front right,? it is not grabbing, just grinding, should be easy enough to spot, take the wheel off again and find the problem, Changing the pads should have nothing to do with the abs,. I don't know why the light would be coming on unless you have too much movement for the abs to work, or not enough. Check it out, hope this helps.

Could possibly have a bad connection on a wheel speed sensor. This would cause an erratic reading making the ABS light come on because the system thinks a wheel is either slipping or dragging.

Take off wheel, brake caliper, pull brake disk. It houses the parking brake (drum type). Chances are the parking breke shoes are shot.
