Take off tires. two 14mm bolts behind the caliper. loosen the bottom 1. tilt the caliper up. slide caliper inward of the car, let caliper hang. two 17mm bolts behind the bracket take it off. and rotors should slide out. if rotor seized spray WD40 and hammer the rotor. careful don't hammer the stud it will screw up the thread.

How to change front brake pads on a Toyota Corolla 1.4i 2006/2007

One side at a time

if rotors are serviceable
undo the lower calliper bolt .. loosen the top one

take note of the clips position or take photos as you go
swing up the calliper from the bottom

g clamp the calliper piston in till it stops
check the calliper slide are loose and working

pull out the old pads fit the new
lower the calliper
tighten both bolts

when other side is done
press the brake pedal a few times
so the piston is pushing the pads to the rotor906bf280-3a9f-4614-b7d8-9513eb28da01.jpg

Replace front rotors

if this job scares you take the car to a brake shop..if not you can remove the wheel and remove the caliper assembly, and the rotor should slide right off the hub drive..some models have a retainer assembly that gets taken off also in the center of the rotor behind a cover..good luck parts stores can print out step by step intructions for you..

On my 2006 Corolla removed the caliper bracket, but there is a star shaped bolt in front of the rotor. Just read where this bolt dosen't need to come off but not convinced. Could anybody confirm that? ...

If you are trying to remove the rotor then this bolt is holding the rotor to the hub bearing. If you are just replacing the pads then this does not need to be removed.

Do you need any special tools or is there anything you need to do different on a 2006 Corolla LE when changing rotors or brake pads?

hi you might need a caliper piston tool, as these i think you have to turn and push at the same time to make them go back into the caliper, the other things should be normal hand tools.....NOTE!!!! when returning the piston into the caliper, remember to remove the filler cap for the fluid, or you could cause damage to seals in the brake system...hope this helps

When I press on the brakes, I feel a pulse sensation and my 05 corolla doesn't stop right away in cold weather. The car kind of veers to the left sometimes. Do I need to replace the pads, rotors or both?

You need to replace the front pads and resurface or replace the rotors. Also check your slides for the calipers and make sure they are clean and well lubed when yo reassemble the brakes. If the slight pull still occurs either nthe flex hose or caliper is starting to get weak. But I think for now doing the front pads and rotors will solve your problems.

My 2008 Corolla LE brake light is on but no brake problems

Usually when it is on, it is due to either low brake fluid, e-brake is not full disengaged, or abs pump or circuit is faulty.

I would like to replace the front rotors, 2006 Toyota Sienna LE,can you describe the process? I can replace the pads but have not done rotors on front wheel drive before.

I don't believe I have enough space to expain it all so the best thing is to get a Sienna manual at your local auto parts store or on line and you can always refer to picturs too. This really helps - I'm a manual junky
