The usual location will be in the driver's foot well tucked up underneath the dash. It will be near where your knee is on the door side. There might be a trim panel to remove.
The photo is just a guide and isn't your model of car.

SOURCE: 1992 Lincoln Continental engine/gasket problem

These vehicles are historic for head gasket problems. Ford had issued a recall because there where so many problems. The new head gasket is a different material than the original. Cost to replace varies by shop and geographic location, plan on around 1100 bucks.

SOURCE: lincoln continental cabin filter

I solved the problem by ordering the filter fro an online site that gave instructions:

http://www.cabinairfilters.net/cabin%20air%208467.htm
instructions at this link are:
Turn on wipers until they are in an upright position then turn ignition off. Open the hood. The filter compartment is on the passenger side, directly beneath the windshield. Pull back weather strip and remove cowl. Slide the water shield toward the front of the vehicle then lift to remove. Replace filter and reassemble.

I have it out and am waiting for new filter.

SOURCE: 1997 lincoln continental cranks but wont start put

If it has no spark you might try to replace the ign. module by the drivers side hood hinge attached to fender . Bought this part at pull a part for less than ten dollars. Put it on and cranked right up. Be sure t seal the water out when replacing.
