look at your catalyst sticker under the hood. it will tell you where before top dead center your piston should be before combustion.

well there are a few reasons that could cause this problem some of which are easy fix others are a major fix.
1)The throtle valve cable could be out of adjustment, for this to be corrected it is best to be taken to a transmission shop, or you could buy a Chilton or Haynes repair manual to see how to adjust it yourself.
2)The O.D. solenoid (which depending on the transmission in the truck) is either inside or on the outside of transmission, could have a bad wire going down to it, or have a bad connection to it, or it may not any power getting to it /// First Check All Fueses on vehicle then locate where solenoid is the check wires for power. The solenoid could also be plugged or bad depending on condition of trans and the ATF.
3)In side the transmission the is whats called a Over Drive Clutch Pack and the cluthes could be worn out or completely gone this happens quite often with older vehicles. If this happens to be the problem then the only possible fix would be what is called a OVER HAUL in which the transmission is removed from the vehicle, disassembled, all clutches and damaged parts in side are replaced, then transmission is or should be cleaned and then reassembled and then the transmission is reinstalled back into the vehicle.
So depending on where you live there might be a transmission shop that might diagnose the exact problem of your 93 nissan and give you a quote on fixing it. Some shops do this for free other do not. My shop does this for free. So I hope this helps you with your truck.
