How do I replace the oil pump in my 1984 Ford E-150 Van? Is it as simple as removing the oil pan and accessing the pump, or are there other thingsin the way that I will also have to remove? Thanks!

The best thing to help you with this problem is to buy a Chilton book for the van. It cost about $20 at the autopart store.
It's the best research material for a Do-it-yourself work. Diagrams, pictures, and procedure will be in the book. That way you'll know what is really involved. Last thing I want to do is give you the wrong info on disassemble to get to the oil pump. I would have to see the van in front of me to tell what needs to done. The Chilton book is the best.

I need to put a new oil pump on my 1997 e-150 ford van 4.6 automatic trans, do i have to pull motor mounts and jack motor or is there a easier way?

on a van yes!!! you may also have to remove the intake and assorted hardware, even then you may have to reach between the oil pan and the engine to remove the oil pump just to get the pan out

2002 Ford Van E-150 the check oil light comes on and of, oil preassure drops at take off, but comes back to normal once I'm driving. Oil level is fine. any ideas. Van only has 120,000 miles on it

Hi. These fluctuating pressure readings are a strong indication of oil pump failure. The oil pump is damaged. I recommend to replace this failing oil pump, and screen. Once replaced, the oil pressure will stabilize.

How to remove oil pan from 1995 Ford E-150 van

all you should have to do is drain the oil and take out the bolts, i think there is like 16 bolts. there may be a cross member bar going across the oil pan, if there is then i would suggest taking in to a mechanic, because the engine may be mounted to it and it has to be removed to get it out

Replace oil pump

Oil Pump is in the oil pan.. You would have to take the pan out. To get the pan out you either have to raise the motor up or remove crossmembers.

Procedure to r&r oil pump

To remove the oil pump you will need to drop the oil pan to gain access to the oil pump. Difficulty depends on what engine is in the van and clearances available to remove the pan. But, basically an easy process if you have any mechanical skills and the correct tools for the process.
Be sure to prime the new oil pump before you install it or start the engine.
