Question about 1995 Chevrolet Silverado 2500
Neg. battery cable melted and battery very very hot. i disconnected everything off battery. possible neg. wire melted from laying on the head? or i noticed the clamp was loose on the intake manifold. please help thanks very much, rick
If your cable was indeed laying on a hot cylinder head, it will conduct heat from the engine and transfer it all through the cable, which will heat up the battery also. That cable should be replaced, and make sure the connection are clean, at both ends.
