Question about 1992 Buick Park Avenue

I have a 1992 buck with a/c climate control problem

I have a 1992 buck with the one like the old stile climate controls buttons with slide controls and slide fan switch. No digital stuff like the slid stile cars have. well some times it works and other time it is like a time machine. The lights go round and round and some time that don't do anything. Some times it is on and some times it is off. Some times it blows defrost and some times on the floor and then the dash. I can put a pennie in the max setting and this help keep it going sometime but not all the time. Any ideas on what is causing this problem? I was thing the climate control was bad but not sure if a damper is dragging the system down or some thing else? Thanks

You need to recharge the air conditioner. You can get a do it yourself kit for about 60 bucks. Works well and will explain how it is used pretty thoroughly for you.

My 1992 park avenue has climate control. When i push the AC button it beeps and the economy button lights up and blows outside air from the vents. How do I fix the AC?

Remove the negative battery cable to reset the ac control, then if it does this again, the ac has a problem, and you will need a set of ac gauges to put on the ac system to tell what is going on inside the ac system.

Heater controler will not chang from blowing in the center to the defrost or to the floor .1992 civic with air

Tap your dash or in that area to see if it works then. If so, it;s some cold solder (separated connections) on a circuit boar controlling your climate buttons. On my Prelude it was a board on the actual unit, I slid it out and puddled solder around the separated pins and it worked.

I need the climate control layout, and there is a lever on right side of drivers seat, what does it do?

The lever raises and lowers the drivers seat. The other lever allows the seats to slide back and forth. Not sure what you need for the climate control layout

Had the same problem, replaced the ambient air temp sensor in front of the radiator. Cost is like 10-15 bucks. Don't worry if temp doesn't change right away. Took me about 5 miles and then it worked great.

Electronic climate control has a mind of its own

the climate control head units go out in these cars with age. The steering wheel controls are probably losing conection. You can replace the turnsignal switch or gently bent the little copper prongs back up.

Max air button does not respond

"MAX" ONLY puts the climate control in the RECIRC mode. Door modes change to " RECIRCULATE" interior cabin air back to be RE-COOLED, instead of using HOT OUTSIDE air to cool. If the problem is in the panel, complete replacement is required. Hope this helps
