I tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. it wont move forward or reverse, engine is good both solenoids for forward and reverse work.
I don't have much
technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and works perfect! got it from www.reliable-store.com

im not a trans. expert but would verify the range sensor (gear indicating sensor) is working properly and the L/R solenoid is ok. those are the 2 suspects for your problem

SOURCE: my 91 dodge stealth is in limp mode how do i fix

Your car is in "limp"mode because the computer doesn't know what speed your doing,So it doesn't shift,
There are three possible reasons for this,
#1= input sensor faulty on transmission,
#2=output sensor faulty on transmission,
#3=speed sensor faulty on transmission,
you need to have the transmission codes read to know which one,Autozone checks codes for free.

SOURCE: how to replace a engine mount on dodge neon 05

There are 4 motor mounts on a Neon. You need a jack to support the bottom of the motor with a block of wood on it. 2 are easily replaceable, but there is one that goes to the middle of the front of the engine that is tricky, plus the transmission mount is accessed after removing several components, like the battery and tray. It may be better to have a professional take care of those "tricky" mounts.

SOURCE: reset dodge magnium in limp mode

Limp mode can be reset as eaily as shutting off the car and restarting it. the computer will then retest the system, if the problem is gone you will not go into limp mode. but if the problem is still evident, you will have to have it repaired before it will work properly.

Not really. You have to have the codes read. Could be as easy as replacing a solenoid. You have to remove the transmission pan to do it. Or it could be a transmission rebuild.

4 cyl. Auto trans. in limp mode. takin the shift solenoid out to re build it i fnd ripped wires. My question may seem should i re connect the first or cont with the shift solenoi

Unfortunately, you should have gotten the diagnostic codes for the transmission before messing with the shift solenoid. Most of those dodge shift issues are caused by input and output speed sensors.

In and out of limp mode

My 2 experiences with limp mode was on a 93' Chevy. 1 time was the ecm, but it didn't reset until I replaced the ecm. The other time was the main electrical plug that comes from the ecm. The largest electrical plug on the trans. I unplugged it and there was trans fluid inside the plug on the 16 pins that connect the external wire Barnes to the internal wire harness of the trans. This required a new harness inside of the trans and replacing the external harness near the trans. Not an easy fix and may not be your issue, but this issue would "come and go". Fluid would short out the communication at the pins.

P0340 check engine light

A fault code P0340 on the '05 Dodge Neon means, "No CAM signal at PCM." So the camshaft position sensor or its wiring is at fault.

The car will start and run without the cam signal, but it will run in "limp-home" mode and batch-fire fuel injection - So it'll run, just not very well...

First step, make sure the sensor is actually plugged in. It's on the driver's side of the head, looks like a square with a raised circle. Also check the wiring from it back to the computer and make sure it isn't shorting out somewhere. Replacing the sensor only takes those 4 bolts and a few rags for oil.

I'm not sure on the price of the part, but I don't think it's anymore than $50 or so.

I hope this helps and good luck! :)

2003 dodge neon only runs in first gear slips at 1500 rpm , must shut car off an turn on for it to run , wont shift out of first.runs fine in reverse.is it a pcm problem.

No,Your car is in "limp"mode,
there are three sensors on the transmission that tell the computer how fast your going so it knows to upshift,
have someone check input sensor, output sensor, and speed sensor.

2003 dodge neon PO700 (tcm)

You dont have to pull the tranny to fix this. Some so called "experts" on here shouldnt be giving advice if they dont know. The solenoid pack is located in the front the transmission just below the air filter and in front of the input speed sensor you just replaced. Unbolt the connector with a 10mm socket then the bolts connecting to the tranny. Replace with a new one 140 bux or close(get a new one). Installation is vice versa. Easy fix for any person who is mechanically inclined. Always get a second or third opinion when asking a thousand dollar question on any website. Some people think they know....but they dont.

Malfunction indiction light is on and my car will not change geer

Hopefully just a bad sensor or something simple like that. Your probably in what they call "limp mode" which is designed to basically get you to where you can get it fixed, but slowly so no more damage happens. Take it to dealer or good trusted mechanic, transmission shop if trusted, and use it as little as possible until then.

05 dodge neon stx

To find the starter just follow the cable from the positive post of your battery. If you plan to replace it, REMOVE THE NEGATIVE CABLE FROM THE BATTERY!! This is a very hard starter to work on! Both replacing and fixing! OK Frankster016
