I have a 2000 eclipse gt v6. Chk. Eng. Lt. Has been on for 2 months due to egr sensor. So i was told. Now my brake lt and battery lt came on 2 days ago. I had to jump it and i let it run for 25 mins and turned on Headlights and it dies. 2 times this has happened and i just noticed the alternator belt is not on the pulleys and idk if the pulleys r all suppose to all be 90degrees vertical but the lower ones are sitting at 45 degrees and dont look right.

Joseph,

All pulleys are to be aligned parallel. If you have some sitting at 45 degrees, then you have a serious problem and need to have your vehicle towed to an authorized mechanic. Do not attempt to use the vehicle until this problem is corrected.

This sounds like you are having a major electrical issue. Check all of your ground wires, making sure that they are connected properly and have a good ground. Transmission to frame ground wire, engine ground wire, alternator ground wire, and the negative battery wire that goes to the block. That would be the first step in this process.

SOURCE: 2001 3.5 lt V6 timing belt has jumped 5 teeth engine has tight spot when turned with spark plugs out.Anyone come across this?

There is a good chance with it skipping that many teeth that you could have a piston hitting a valve.

Why does my 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse start misfiring after it warms up?

no new spark plugs for 18 years??? ouch or COP BOOTs that old? ouch 2.
or spark wire sets. on V6 the last distributor on earth?
dizzy cap and rotor not replaced in 18 years?
no engine told and is and Engine +EFI problem.\
2.4L or 3.0L V6
2.4L runs 4 COPS. no DIZZY there.
scan the PCM yet? lean to scan first.
P03xx errors for sure but which one? xx <<< tell xx.
tell all DTCs seen skip none and do not google DTC's or get a pile of lies. endless lies.
the service manual does not lie, so I saved you ton of cash saying that.
i can name other causes, for missfire
1: engine bad, as cam belt slipped.
2: spark is bad.
3: injectors dead or clogged or leaking.
4: engine flooding , due to bad map sensor or bad ect or other sensors failing, scan it.
5: even bad fuel.
if engine is lean it bogs, no felt misfire. but is.

2004 petrol prado, fuelling up and revving up itself.

TOYOTA maker.
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado<<<<<this car?
Gen 3 Cruiser. with
4 petrol engines then.
no country told and is not USA car. we know that, but where? first sold
or VIN/
no engine told v6 size? 3.4 or 4.0L V6????????
wiki says the 3RZ-FE engine<<<< this?.for 2004
my guess ,is huge vacuum leaks.from lots of hoses even brake booster Vac leaks or hose never connected first.
IAC stuck open
TV stuck open on TB or gunked open
cutting out means stalling or just spark misfiring/?

getting too much fuel ,proved how? just RPM???????
the engine uses AIR, and this are he EFI adds fuel to mach air. mass.
that is how EFI works (be it mAF or MAP based)
online searching snows MAF sensor part of the TB.
some cars have idle only mAP sensor, but we have no books on this enigine.
let me explain MAF. mass air flow sensors
it measures ever microgram of air sucked in to the engine
the MAF tells the PCM this and PCM injects on mass air flow measured.
if you have any kind of vacuum leak the engine goes lean and slows DOWN LEAN BUT NOT IN COLD ENGINE STARTUP ENRICH MODE.

but not all engines witH MAF, SOME HAVE AND IDLE ONLY MAP SENSOR THAT IF VACUUM LEAKS HAPPEN THE ENGINE SCREAMS
KNOWING these to things, vacuum leaks
or in the MAF world UNMETerED air flow leaks.must be repaired.
all vacuum leaks are bad. besides, IAC allowed.

What is the firing order for the spark plugs on my 2000 chevy express van?

I sincerely apologize for the late response...Due to the bad economic situation this site has had a substantial (+50%) increase in the number of questions being asked in the last four months.

I am not sure if you have the 1/2, 3/4 or 1-Ton model.
Also Not sure if you have the 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L or 7.0L Engine. However I have included all below.

For the 4.3L (6cylinders):
Firing Order:
1-6-5-4-3-2
Cylinders:
6------------5
4------------3
2------------1
(front of vehicle)
Distributor:
coil wire-->
-----6------->............<--------5-------
-----4------->............<--------1-------
-----2------->............<--------3-------
............(front of vehicle)

For the 5.0L AND 5.7L AND 7.0L (8-cylinders):
Firing Order:
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Cylinders:
8-----------7
6-----------5
4-----------3
2-----------1
(front of vehicle)
Distributor:
coil wire-->
-----6------->............<--------5-------
-----4------->............<--------3-------
-----2------->............<--------7-------
-----8------->............<--------1-------
............(front of vehicle)
