BTW - if you have less than 100,000miles you might be able to have your cat replaced under warranty by the dealer. In Canada it's 160,000km.

I took mine to the dealer to find out why the VSC, Trac off, and check engine lights are on. They said it is the camshaft position sensor, it retards the timing, and causes it to lose power when climbing. Also, 1 of every 30 to 50 scions have this problem. Sounds like it should be recalled for this. The cost of replacement is about $500 bucks. Get your dry belts and valve cover gaskets changed at the same time to avoid labor charges later. I couldn't believe the dealer charges $89 bucks an hour for labor these days, Rediculous. At least it comes with a a 12 month unlimited mileage warrenty.

It sounds like you have either a lean or rich condition ocurring, could be exuast leak, vac leak, leaking fuel preasure regulator, cat convertor. At this point would go to dealer for diagnosis.

there are no codes that say replace O2 sensors,or remove converter,Thats just somebody's guessing,When it says O2 sensor that tells the mechanic to look for trouble in that area, wiring or faulty readings,And there are four O2 sensors.
