Running lights not working

I have a 1969 VW Beetle that the back running lights are not working. Where is the fuse and what if it is not the fuse?

The fuse box is located below the instrumental panel (below ashtray).
Here's a link to the entire Owners Manual. The fuse section is on pages 41-42.

Vw beetle battery is good but something is draining it. sos help


The standard procedure is to disconnect the negative cable and use a test light or meter to measure voltage.
A test light between the battery post and ground will light up until the drain is knocked out.
You disconnect each fuse and cable until you find the drain.

06 vw bug. Pulled a fuse from the fuse box while the car was running now the car won't start


put the fuse back in pull the positive battery cable off for 30 secs then put it back on. Try restart

2000 VW New Beetle 1.8T low beam bulbs not


it may be a blown fuse on the low beam circuit,check the fuses,if the fuses are OK check the bulbs.....hope this helps.....cheers

Back up lights don't work


its your switch. Find the reversing light switch and change it[you can check it by connecting the 2 wires going to it together if the light comes on then its the switch if not then its wiring

All brake lights on VW Beetle are out


The fuses are located on the drivers side of car left of your dash cluster.

I'm going to assume it is an automatic transmission,

Check the brake switch for malfunction,

NOT the brake......the brake light switch,

The cruise control,brake light and shift lever over ride all connected to rhe same circuit.

Check all fuse first,bulbs and move onto checking the brake switch,

Fog lights not working on a 98 beetle fuse card symbol confuseing what does the symbol look like bulbs are good 98 vw beetle thank you.


Fog lights fuse is #36, which is a 15A (blue) fuse that fits in the bottom "group" of fuses, center row, 2nd from bottom

2005 BW Beetle Running Lights


I've never tried to change mine, so i don't know if this will work but its worth a try right. I found this when i was looking for a solution to my problem. Hope it helps.
