Question about 2003 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

Brake lights not working, but middle brake light works.

I have a 2002 corolla. The middle brake light works but the side brake lights do not. I checked the fuse and it is not blown. I checked the bulbs and they do not look blown. I also checked and there is power to the socket when the brake level is pressed. The parking lights work in the same bulb.

Try cleaning the contacts with a wire brush if they appear dirty and then apply a small amount of silicone to the bulb contacts also try replacing the bulb as sometimes they don't appear to be blown but are

Brake Lights don't work

It is your brake light switch which is located on your brake pedal. There are do different wires going out, one for the side brake lights and the other for the middle light. It is an easy, cheap fix that shouldn't take you to long to replace. Once replaced your brake lights will be back to normal. Let me know if you have any other questions about this. I'd backtrack with test light from socket with low voltage reading. If you probe behind socket, or wire going into socket for power, and it shows bright, you've isolated problem area.

I have a 2001 toyota corolla. The brake lights do not work, i changed the fuse & the brake switch. The lights still don't work, what else could it be?

Have you checked the switch for power? get a cheap test light and you should have power on one side of the switch all times. If you dont it will be a supply fault eg fuse, fusable link. does every thing else work, intieror lights, clock, haz, horn. if you have power on it check other side of switch when pressing brake padal, if so ceck for power at lamps with pedal pressed. if so check for correct type lamp or an eath problem. see how you go...
