Cylinder location - Cars & Trucks

The location of the number 1 cylinder in a 2008 Hyundai Tucson is determined by the engine type and layout.

pull both plugs and rotate motor till you get timing mark to top dead center on marker, feel for compression as you rotate motor BY HAND ONLY that will be #1

Bank and sensor location. Bank 1 refers to the back of cylinders that contain cylinder #1. Bank two refers to the other bank of cylinders that do not contain cylinder #1. Sensor 1 refers to the upstream O2 sensor or the O2 sensor before the catalytic convertor. Sensor 2 refers to the downstream O2 sensor or the sensor located after the Catalytic convertor. Change the cylinder ?
Cylinder number 5 on a 3.0 engine should be the center cylinder next to the radiator.

Your master cylinder is located on the firewall, on the other side of the clutch pedal. Your slave cylinder is located next to the gearbox bell housing.
