Question about 1989 Mercury Cougar
I went to start up my car and it cranked fine, but then when the engine started it kept cranking, so i turned the key to off, and the engine turned off but the starter kept cranking as if i were trying to start it up. I just recently changed the starter solenoid with the exact same model, and made sure everything was hooked up correctly...what could the problem be?
There are 2 connections on the solinoid the main positive feed.(thick wire from battery)which will sometimes have other wires connected with it and a thinner wire(approx. 3mm thick) with a push on lug from the ignition relay.Check that none of those wires are in the wrong place.it will cause what you are describing
