You may want to check the ASD ( Auto Shut Down Relay ).

It is located in the fuse panel/distribution box, under the hood. once you remove the cover turn it over and a description of the location of all fuses and relays are listed there. The relays are the inch square black plastic pieces. If you look at the part #'s on the top of the relays they should be the same. Therefore once you find the ASD relay, switch it with a different 1 and try the engine. If this does not work you are going to have to get someone to check the power and grounds out to see which is the problem. I will be gone for a week.Hope this works for you .

2003 sunfire- came home from work, parked car, about 3 hours later i tried to start car,but it would not start, engine is turning over fine but will not start

Check fuel pump to see if it is starting when you turn on key. Check under hood for fuel pressure. If a fuel pump is on its way out the car will run until you stop and it will not start when fuel level is below 1/4 full. Usually you add fuel and it will start but unless you keep it full it will act up again. if it is happening and adding fuel allows the car to start replace fuel pump because you will have to do shortly anyhow.
