97 Chevy S10 rear end squeek that goes away when brakes are applied


If you have rear disc brakes, one of the rotors could be warped and causing the pads to move in the caliper.
You should be able to remove one wheel at a time, lock down the rotor with the lug nuts, and put the trans in low gear or reverse to listen for the noise.

1996 dodge ram 1500 rear brakes locking up any time new braks and no leaks and are clean. acts like more brake pressure on rear than should be the rear brakes are ajusted .it seems like theres to mch press...


if this system has short shoe long shoe set up make sure the short shoe is on front or it will cause this problem also i personally have had to try another set of shoes to remedy this wether there was a issue with lining material or what but parts house was working with us and offered to send another set to try and problem was taken care of also you can bevel leading edges of shoes with a file and may help have seen this correct problem on 05-06 chevy p/u grabbing

My brakes seem to have no compression on my Dodge Ram. They just went out when it was cranked up.


The brakes need some sort of bleeding. See a brake system expert at the garage.

did you spray some brake stop squeek on the back of the pads before you installed them try these websites www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com and the stop brake squeek you be able to pick up some at any auto parts store even Walmart.

Need instructions on how to replace rear drum brakes on 1997 dodge ram 1500 club cab


1/2 ton drums just slide off after the wheels have been remove. you might have to hit the drum with a hammer on the inner side by the backing plate because they wear a grove after a while making them hard to remove.
