Same problem My dealership just called to say that they have ordered a new trans under warranty, so it is not, apparently, an isolated problem.

If it is under warranty, THEY NEED TO FIX IT! Never trust lazy salesman or dealer personal. Any how, it sounds like your clutch or trans is slipping and might have "grinder teeth" in trans... Last suggestion, flush trans fluid and add Lucas additive to oil

2009 nissan sentra using 1 qt of oil a week and computer says only misfire cylinder 3 what gives?

Take it to the dealership if it's under 60k miles. If it's sucking oil, then it sounds like you might have a bad head gasket, which is covered under the warranty. There's been a lot of hinky issues with the 2009 Sentra and #3 cylinder misfires, but apparently they don't want to do a recall on them. It's almost as if they're betting on the problem developing after the warranty expires.

Your vehicle is probably still under the powertrain warranty. Call the nearest Hyundai Dealership and talk with the Service Department. I think you can get this problem diagnosed & repaired under warranty (Limited Powertrain Warranty).

Seems the Carrier Bearing is out on my 2008 Ford Edge with a little under 55,000 miles is this common & isn't it still under Ford Warranty?

that depends upon what coverages were offered at the time of purchase, and if you purchased extended coverage. well worth a call to the dealership. they can tell you about any ford warranty that is still in effect. sometimes dealers can work with customers that have a premature problem. in any event, asking if your covered, or if not, will they give you any help, costs you only a phone call. these are tough times , and even the dealerships are looking foe whatever work they can get.

On a 2006 ML350, is it necessary to get the transmission service (new filter) after 48K miles??

yes Mercedes changed the transmission service interval to 40k miles but then after that you don't have to service the transmission until you reach 140k miles. It is a good idea to the transmission serviced at this mileage especially for warranty purposes. There was a lot of issues with the new 722.9 transmission when it first came out. Which is one of the reasons Mercedes moved up the transmission service from 100k miles to 40k miles for the first time it needs to be serviced anyways. Plus if the transmission happens to need repairing the first thing the dealership will look for is to see if the trans service had been done at 40k miles before doing any kind of warranty work on the vehicle. As a former Mercedes Benz Tech at the dealership I would say yes it is necessary to get the trans serviced.

yes it should be under warranty, call your local Subaru service department to verify warranty coverage. if its still under warranty ask the dealership if towing the car would be covered also. it needs to be towed. make sure you tell the tow truck company that its stuck in park and wont move so they can send out the correct tow truck.

98 Saab convertible motor needs installation- I was informed it needs to be done at a dealership

for a 1998 vehicle? it's not still under warranty is it? the main reason to take your vehicle to the dealership in my opinion is that you still have a warranty and you don't want to void it. where i live the local dealership charges $95 hour. to me that would be a good reason to not go there. i would look in the phone book where you live and find some shops that are listed under automotive electrical and tell them what you have. i would be really surprised if one of them can't help you. these shops aren't cheap, probably charge more for their time then general service shops, but all they do is electrical and they are really good at it. what is likely to happen if you take a ten year old car to the dealership is that the dealership will have their used car guys work on it. the new car guys have to learn new stuff all the time so they usually only go five years out. hope that helps.

is you rx still under warranty? if its still under warranty take it to the dealership. youll get it fixed for free. all you have to do is call up your local dealership and give them your vin to see if its still covered under base warranty. if its out of warranty youre in luck, its not too hard too do. check your coil packs. remove air filiter assembly and remove coil packs. if there is discoloration on the back of the coil packs you need to get new ones. it wouldnt hurt to change your plugs and wires either. youll be happy with the results.
