Usually only 2 places it can be,,,under the car near the gear shift.....or under the centere consol inside the car, where the gear shift is, need to remove part of the centre consol to get to it

Why do my reverse lights on a f150 Ford stay on no matter what gear I'm in

You need to check your if your reverse switch is stuck. Without knowing what year of truck you have it is difficult to tell what type of switch you have, but it is simple to trouble shoot. When you find your reverse switch, if you unplug it with the key on and the back-up lights go out you know it is the switch, if they stay on then you need to look at the wiring. Somewhere you will have a hot wire grounding out against the lead wire to the lights.

It shouldn't matter what gear. Replace the back-up light switch on the transmission.

My 1993 Trooper's reverse lights don't work. I've checked all the fuses and changed the bulbs out but this was fruitless. Please help.

I had the same Problem with my 1994 Trooper. I was smoking (painting with translucent black paint) my taillights, and when i put the back in, the reverse lights didnt work. In a seemingly unrelated problem, my gearshift indicator strip on the dash would only stay in park. The solution is that there is a sensor that measures gear shift position on the transmission, that relays the power to the reverse lights when reverse is selected. This sensor turned out to be corroded through and the wires surrounding it had corroded from the inside out. I recently got that replaced, and the problem was solved.

How do you engage and disengage 4 wheel drive on a isuzu trooper 3.0 year 2000

Hi. On the central console under the air went openings is a line of buttons - triangle-awd-motor heater-rear washer-rear heater... Just push AWD button and you must see a green symbol on the instruments down left corner first blinking and, if gears are switched right, steady lighting. Turn off the same way, but must first the HI-LO lever turn back to HI if you did use the LO gear.

My 98 trooper doesn't seem to have four wheel drive, the dash light blinks, but it doesn't seem to spin all four in the mud so I can't tell if its working, does this light just blink? Or should it stay...

I belive that it should stay constentley light. Try to put it into 4 wheel drive. Put it in reverse back up about 10' Put it back in drive and see if it works...Best of luck

Isuzu Trooper 1997. Automatic Transmission holds gears too long.

Their is a power and normal drive in trooper's power for pulling a trailer and normal for normal driving. The power drive only changes gear at higher R.P.M. Their is a switch on the plastic cover under the handbrake with p & n their is a light in the dash as well. If you are not aware of this switch then just needs switching over if you are aware of it then its probably the fuse to activate it or a wiring problem with it, Cheers

The dash transmission indicator changes without any gear change

trans nuetral saftey swich needs replacing
internal switch contacts are shorting together causing the PRND21 lights to move when this happens the trans ECU doesnt know what gear its in which causes clunky shifts and can lead to check engine light coming on
