Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Brake lights wont work

Okay, so in my 94 jeep cherokee my brake lights wont work but all other lights do (running, headlights, reverse lights, blinkers). My brake light switch is connected as far as i can tell. I am thinking that is it possibly a bad ground. Does anyone know how i should go about checking this?

My 99 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 has some brake light problems. The brake lights work fine during the day, but when I need to have my headlights on, my left brake light and tail light competley shut...

If you have any extra fuses, try replacing the ones for the head lights and tail lights. Make sure the fuses you replace are the same color as the ones you replace them with, that way the voltages are the same. Another issue is that a flasher could be going out.

Drive side brake light works when headlights are off ,but when headlights are on,it doesnt, wondering what is causing this?

There is a bad ground in your tail lamps. The brake light works with the headlamps off because the brake lamps have a good ground. When you turn on your running lights with the bad ground, they try to ground through the brake lamp circuit.

I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee and the brake lights wont work

there's a possibility that it might be the socket that the bulb actually goes into. my break light did something similar to that. the socket only cost about 8 bucks from the dealer.

There is a couple of switches in the 4x4 system that may be at fault. You would need to find out which one at the dealership. You are not supposed to be riding down the road with the ebrake on which is why the headlights go out.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee; taillights go out w/ brake press

Try checking one of 2 things, Check the fuses. I had a 94 cavalier do the same thing after i put a 30amp fuse in to a 25amp slot for the courtsy fuse. Also check the bulbs in the tail of the vehical to make sure they are the right ones. If this dose not do it get a test light & wire diagrham, you may have a bad short to ground some where in the brake light wires.
