Valve guides and seals are likely worn...Chevy forgot to re-design the geometry when they went to a bigger cam back in about 1956. Though in my opinion they have likely the best design overall, that one item causes the valves to push against the opposite side of the guide as they go up and down, eventually causing wear. The good part is usually as they open up, they begin to wear a bit less and generally will stay that way without doing any harm for quite some time.

When cold starts but dies.to start, peddle to floor, rev a minute then it idles but at times dies when accelerating from a stop. Raw gas smell present and puff of blue smoke when it starts.

have you checked the cylinder compressions as backfire and blue smoke can be a symptom of low compression , either rings or valve seats but would need a dropdown test to be sure

When i start the car it gets warm then starts to have black smoke puffing out the tail pipe.

Hello,

how long have you been using the car or car engine.

The black smoke is an indication that your engine has worn out.

A bad engine oil can also cause black smoke to puff out.

Take the car to the nearest mechanic, so that the engine will be checked. If the engine has worn out, it can be ringed and you can further use the engine for a long period of time.

Best regards.

Exhaust problems. Black smoke=exhaust, blue smoke=oil, white smoke=water.

89 chevy s10 blazer puff smoke out tailpipe when 1st started

A puff of smoke when you start up indicates worn valve seals. That's why all your work didn't fix the problem and it doesn't show a code. It's a pain in the --- job that requires some specialized tools so I guess it depends on how bad it bugs you,if oyu want to fix it.

1992 gmc sierra turbo diesel starts and idles fine until warm up

It's time for a Italian tune up!

The blue smoke can be one of two thing.

oil drop from the valve stem (from engine head to cyclinders)
or
diesel soot collect inside the exhaust system.

===
I will take a 5-10 minutes high rpm (not redline) ran on the highway.
Pay close attention to the rear view mirror and look for black diesel soot.
=== I will use Diesel Cleen or similar product to condition the fuel. (keep moisture down)
Use the recommended amount of SEAFOAM oil additive to condition the valve stem seal/rubber parts.

I can not rule out excessive blown by.
Can you get a diesel compression tester?
When was the last valve adjustment?

Please post the actual odometer on the engine and I will follow up on it.

Rebuilt puffs blue smoke off idle

If it only has 500 miles on it I would drive it awhile before doing anything. It could be the rings just haven't seated in yet.

Big puff of white smoke at start up after sitting for several hours.

white smoke is water
blue smoke is oil.
nest time try and smell the white smoke see if it smells sweet?
if it does its antifreeze.
and also black smoke is fuel (like a leaky injector )
hope this helps
