2002 Ford Explorer passenger power window problem

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer 4 door 6 cyl XLT. Is there a fuse for the power windows or a control module for the power windows. Here is the problem. The passenger window only goes down from drivers side controls. The window only goes back up from the PASSENGER side controls.

Check the fuse panel first, after that check your fuse relays under the hood, if not then it might be a wiring problem.

I WOULD VENTURE TO ADD THIS INTO YOUR ISSUES: I BELEIVE YOU HAVE "BAD" WINDOW SWITCHES. IT IS NOT UNCOMMON TO HAVE MORE THAN 1 POWER WINDOW SWITCH TO GO OUT AT NEARLY THE SAME TIME. THE "MULTI-FUNCTION" SWITCH IS THE DRIVERS SIDE & IS MORE COSTLY TO REPLACE (and is used more often than any other switch for your windows)(Plus Spilled Drinks, Window down as it rains & gets the switches wet etc.), AS WITH MOST FORDS, THE DRIVER SIDE SWITCH, WAS AT ONE TIME, THE WHOLE SET OF SWITCHES (4) SO THE DRIVER CAN CONTROL ALL THE WINDOWS. YOU MAY HAVE A "BAD" "CONTROL POWER WINDOW LOCK SWITCH" WHICH IS NEAR THE "MAIN SWITCH". WHAT I MEAN BY THAT , IS THIS IS THE SO-CALLED "LOCK" SWITCH WHERE YOU CAN LOCK-OUT ALL THE OTHER SWITCHES FROM WORKING. IF THAT SHORTS OUT, IT CAN LEAD TO ALL OF THE WINDOWS BEING ALL SWITCHED OR "LOCKED - POWER OFF" TO ALL THE OTHER SWITCHES. SO HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE ONLY A BAD "LOCK" SWITCH THAT IS BAD. I WOULD LOOK AT SALVAGE YARDS, AS FORD USED TO SELL ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE THAT HAD ALL THE SWITCHES (Called a Multi-Switch) & WAS AT ONE TIME, PRETTY COSTLY. I DO NOT REMEMBER WHAT ALL YEARS FIT "OTHER" YEARS. LIKE 1999 THRU 2002, THERE SHOULD BE MULTIPLE YEARS THAT YOUR DRIVERS SIDE IS THE SAME, BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER WHAT YEARS INCLUDE YOUR 2002, BUT A SALVAGE YARD WITH HAVE A CROSS-REFERENCE BOOK (OR PC Software) ON WHICH OTHER YEARS ARE THE SAME AS YOURS, JUST CALL A COUPLE IN YOUR AREA & THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL YOU & IF THEY HAVE ANY OR GET ON THE "HOT-LINE" FOR PARTS IN OTHER AREAS CLOSE TO YOU. HOPE THIS HELPS, & I JUST NOTICED THE DATE YOU POSTED THIS PROBLEM (was Over a year ago), WHICH BY NOW, IM SURE YOU HAVE IT FIGURED OUT BY NOW, ANYWAY IF YOU HAVE NOT YET, THEN START WITH THE SALVAGE YARDS.

Windows stopped working all of a sudden. first rear passenger side then the rest. how can I fix this?

Check fuses and wire harness to door for correct connection. Check on the fuse box cover as it will show a relay that can also be faulty.

I have no power going to the coil pack of my ford explorer xlt 6 cyl 4.0 L

The check engine light gets power from the PCM - there is a PCM relay that gets power from a 10amp fuse number 6 and a 30amp fuse number 10 in the fuse box next to the battery. This can also affect the coil.

Relay for 2002 Ford explorer xlt power Windows dome lights radio dont work

I just had the same problem with my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT. I checked all of the fuses in the passenger compartment, #6 under the hood, and was about to get ready to pull the GEM and decided to check ALL if the fuses under the hood. I have found no posts referring to any other fuses but my problem turned out to be the #15 15A Memory (KAPWR) fuse. I replaced it and all is good. Like always, rule out the little things first before spending too much time or money on major repairs.

HORN DOES NOT WORK ON 2002 FORD EXPLORED XLT. WHERE IS THE HORR / RELAY LOCATED? THANK YOU,

Check on Passenger Compartment Panel, position 6, 10AMP (right horn) and on the Power Distribution Center (underhood) position 28, 20AMP (horn relay).

Additional details could find in the 2002-Ford-Explorer owners manual (page 229 and next).

I hope helps (remember to rate this answer).

2002 explorer power window fuse where

In the battery Junction Box check fuse # 6-60AMP will feed Central Junction Box (under driver side), the inline circuit breaker #47-30AMP, through the Accessory Delay Relay, powered by fuse #17-15AMP to the Window Control Circuit. Check the fuses, and for 12v at the points. Then check for 12v at the driver side door switch pannel.

Also uou should check the plug into the main window button console in your drivers door. The little piece of plastic around the door handle pops out when pushed towards the front of the vehicle. This gives you access to the buttons and harnesses.

Good luck (remember rated this help).

How do I fix the problem of all 4 power windows

See if you have power coming out of the master power window switch when a button is pushed down. Remove a door panel and check for power at the window motor with the switch pushed. If you do not have power it could be the master switch. Good luck.
