My power steering fluid comes back out on 2002 Ford Taurus I just put a new belt on it

Darlene, did you by chance overfill the power steering reservoir or was there any other steering work done recently. Could be air in the system, a bad pump, pinched/collapsed hose, etc. You may have to have a good Tech. diagnose and estimate repair. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Ihave a car ford taurus year 1999 my problem is the power steering pump if ishot down the engine the fluid will come out wiht alot of preasure on the reservoir even though it was ina correct level, th

when filling the power steering pump, add enough fluid that you can see it inside the pump down low. turn the tires all the way to the left then to the right. then straighten the tires. this allows the fluid to go in to the system. add more fluid and check with the power steering cap level gauge. if the engine has warmed up add fluid to the hot level on the power steering cap gauge. do not overfill.

Most likely the rack & pinion assembly needs replacing. Had the same issue on my '01 Taurus SES. Most of the fluid comes out just inside the left front wheel?

Today a noise started coming from underneath the hood of my 1999 Ford Taurus that sounded like a very loud lawnmower. It seems to do this both while driving and while idle, although the noise is...

Hello, This could be an indication your A/C is low on Freon or your Power Steering pump is low on fluid. Both systems are made to increase the idle speed to make the system work better. What happens in the case of the A/C, is the A/C compressor puts a strain on the motor when it engages the electric clutch on the compressor.

The A/C is wired such that when the compressor clutch engages, the engine RPM is increased to maintain the idle speed. The controls do this automatically and when your compressor is low of Freon, there is little resistance and the engine overspeeds. You are burning up your compressor if you lose the lubricant packaged inside it. That noise you hear is a dry compressor.

Turn your A/C or Defroster off and see if the overspeed and the noise stop. The compressor will run in the Defrost cycle too! Eventually your A/C will lose more of the Freon until the low pressure switch cuts the power to the compressor completely.

Some front wheel drive cars have a boost sensor in the power steering assembly for increasing the idle speed when you are turning the steering at low speeds. If the fluid level is low, it tricks the sensor into speeding up the idle to assist steering. Like in the A/C example, you can get overspeed when the fluid levels are low.

I hope my solution is very helpful in fixing your problem. Have your Freon checked or throw in an "OIL Charge" with the proper type of oil for your compressor. Then check your Power steering.

2004 power steering pump whinning. Changed pump and noise is still present

Ford is notorious for having very noisy pumps. Yes even the replacement pumps. Having some noise in a ford is unfortunately normal.. but I would assume you may have dirty fluid still in the line.. Get the system flushed then see if it goes away. Good luck

P.S dirty or old power steering fluid can cause poor pressure in the power steering system hense the reason to flush the system

1996 Ford Taurus just developed a power steering pump noise.

Make sure it is full of power steering fluid. Fords use generic power steering fluid you can buy at any parts store.Or you can try a power steering additive like Lucus and it may help as a last resort to replacing the pump .

Can't find the spout to pour transmission fluid into Ford Taurus

You need a funnel to add trans fluid to the dipstick tube where u check the trans fluid level. Let me know if u need more help, Add fluid w/ engine running, shift car thru all gears to circulate fluid. Don't overfill, it's bad for the trans.
