My isuzu 4hf1 sudenly stop while giving way to another vehicle, with the gear position in neutral and idle rpm.what is the proper trouble shooting,ty

i cant understand your symptoms. but...
no year car stated or country.
the engine is direct injection engine of 4.33L capacity.
diesel injected..
do not post about other cars and all that, (giving way)
tell what you do and car did. only.
your in neutral for some reason, and something happened what.?
my wild guess is engine stalled. (what trans, stick or auto?)
does not revolve,
what doesnt the starter or the engine.?
the starter motor cranks fast (huge current) and spins 300RPM
and spins the engine ,fast, and the engine starts.
the PCM (injection brain) does fueling.

I will do, cranks ok but dont start.
  1. check all fuses first.
  2. check for clean fuel filter.
  3. check for PCM errors. (diagnostic scans)
  4. Check that glow plugs work.
  5. test using TEST fuel (spray) did it start now.? or just for 3 seconds.?

if the engine fails to crank over (that mean engine crank shaft spins)
that that is a whole other, set of tests, (jumper cable starts are next)

High idle and no reading on temp gauge

check that there is coolant or fluid in the radiator as a coolant temp sender cannot read air as it is a vital part of the injection system for the ecu to know if the engine is cold and if sender relays no reading it is telling the ecu that it needs to ritchen the fuel mixture (possibally the reason for the fast idle) to get the engine up to normal operating temp as soon as you live in a really cold climate a thermostat that is jamed in the open position will cause it a long time to reach a warm reading. hopefully it is just the sensor wire off the coolant temp sender and by replacing it will return ever thing to normal

My 93mercury villager wont start it wants to start but it sounds like ther is no gas going thu i took the starter to get checked and they said it was not to familiar with fuel injection cars

Yeah, you;re maybe right, no fuel is getting into your engine, so have your fuel pump checked. It is also possible that power is not being supplied into your pump, so have your ECU/ECM checked.
There are other reasons why you are having this problem:
1. Defective ECU/ECM sensors
2. Defective ignition components
3. Incorrectly gapped spark plugs
4. Low cylinder compression
5. Broken, loose, or disconnected wires in the ignition circuit
6. Clogged fuel filter
7. Clogged fuel lines
8. Water in your fuel

95 chevy Tahoe will not start, has spark at the coil cranks over fine and gas.

Hi Jonathan, Make sure you have injection as well as fuel in the rail. Sometimes the anti theft unit will cut the injection and therefore the vehicle cannot start. have the vehicle scanned and then rectify what ever defects and faults show up. Another reason for nil injection could be a defective cam or crank sensor. Sometime removing and cleaning them will work. Regards John

Hey, well I did a tune-up on my 1988 Firebird and now it won't start. It has the 2.8L V6, fuel injected (don't know really anything about fuel injection). I changed the cap, rotor, wires, plugs,...

Hi Jeff,
The first thing is that you will want to double check the firing order, this is often the major set back on tune ups and can get confusing. The next thing would be (this is only if you changed that fuel filter) be sure that the filter is installed in the correct direction of flow. After all that is verified that it is correct and accurate I would need a specific list of what precisely you have done to the vehicle as far as the replaced services.

Keep me posted,

Engine turns over and fires for a moment & shuts down

When starting there is a 5th injector that is run off the starter.
So if it stops immediately thereafter, it would appear the normal injectors are not firing.
This would lead one to suspect the fuel injection control box.
Feel the injectors for a click as they open and close.
Check all the fuel injection harness connections for something loose.
Check the air mass sensor for being coated with foam from the PVC.
Check temperature and O2 sensor with ohmmeter that they are not 0 or infinite resistance. Could also be camshaft position sensor, but I don't know how to check that.

If you are getting injector clicks, then you might just have a vacuum leak that only works when really really rich. The EGR is a possibility, and it can be temporarily plugged off. Look for loose hoses. Make sure even gas cap is tight, because even that will cause a vacuum leak.

The OBD plug on the dash is also worth investigating, to see if the on board diagnostic system has recorded anything. Autozone can read it for you for free, or maybe they will loan you the analyzer.

1980 mercedes v8 gas, fuel problem running?

If the car has a carb (not fuel injected) try removing the air filter cover and pouring a small amount of gas down the carb . Now try and start it aND see if it will start. If it starts and runs for a 10-30 seconds and then dies, it is a fuel delivery problem. Car should start if you add gas unless the car is being flooded out. I can't really help you with a fuel injection system except to suggest to replace the fuel filter and see what happens. Just remember you need spark, fuel and air to make combustion. YOu say the car fires so you have spark. I would focus on the fuel delivery.

Mirage sat idle for 4 month, turns over, gas tank was full, starts with starter fluid but stops in a sew seconds. any ideas?

Igood t sounds like water in the carb, (if it has one) or water in the fuel filter. Remove the fuel line from either the carb or injection system, turn the engine over until you get pure fuel through the line. reconnect, spray the starter fluid and it should go, it will osund rough, but a few good blips on the throttle, should clear the line. Let me know, if that doesn't work I have a few more things to try. Regards Dave

'96 Chevy Tahoe won't start

i had similar problem. hard to start in morning but once started, would start everytime until next morning. i changed fuel pump, filter, fuel pressure regulator, coil, cap, rotor, pickup coil, battery. i was finally told the '96 had a recall on the fuel injection assemby. i changed that out with the new mpf system and it solved the problem. runs like a striped ape. hope this helps.
