2002 chrysler sebring top retracts fine but requires assistance to close. whining from hydrolic motor heard on driver side.

Low fluid level in the pump resevior due to a leak at a hydrolic cylinder allowed air instead of fluid to fill the cylinders.
I then removed the pump from its mounting and elevated it as high as the connected fluid lines would allow, removed the plug, filled with trans mission fluid to within a 1/4" of the fill hole. Then cycle the top pausing at each end for 15 seconds to allow air to purge from lines & cylinders.
Recheck fluid level and plug fill hole.
Note: As of 1/18/2010 the cylinders for this model were on nationwide backorder and 300 request were in front of mine at the dealer level.
Good luck with your search for parts.

Brake hydrolic pressure loss.

you still have air in the system, you need to cross bleed the system,RR,LF,LR,RF.if this does not work you might try picking up a hand operated vacum pump to help get all the air out.

1995 Probe MT 5 speed doesn't completely go into 1st or 2nd gear. I recently had the hydrolics in the clutch worked on. On my first long trip the car started acting up and I had trouble getting it in gear....

I've had this problem happen before with previous vehicles. I found out the first time that i had air in the system. Then my pressure plate went on my clutch. Check for air in the hydraulic system and bleed it.

Difficulty shifting, especially into 2nd gear

sounds like you have air in your hydrolic portion of your clutch system, you need to see if your slave cylnder or your clutch master cylnder is leaking fluid putting air in your system. If the case is that you have just a hard to get in gear such as only 2nd then i would have suspected your secronizer ring being bad. or if all gears seem to be hard cold then you would either have a leaking hydrolic cylnder or the wrong fluid in trans.

Need step by step on how to bleed hydrolic clutch on a 1996 ford ranger

First remove the clutch reservoir top. Make sure the rubber stopper/bladder is in the cap when removed. Next locate the clutch line that goes into the tranny just aft of the bell housing. There should be a bleed screw, if so open it slightly. If no screw, than loosen the line where it attatches in. Next fill the clutch reservoir and watch till it leaks out on the tranny end. Once thats noticed, close the screw/line and recap reservoir. pump clutch pedal, and repeat bleed steps at least once more to ensure all air is out. remember to fill clutch fluid up to operating levels.
