There are a couple things that could cause your stuck key. The first and most common is the steering wheel lock is being forced up against the locking mechanism due to torque from the front wheels being turned to much one way or the other when you stopped and parked it. Think of trying to open a door while it is being pushed on. To fix this you must turn the steering wheel away from the lock while you turn the key.
The other problem, which is more common to your cady is an issue with the shift lock.. There may even be something in your owner's manual called "shift lock release procedure", check page 2-32.
Make sure the button on the shifter isn't stuck. Also try pushing the shift lever forward while turning the key. If this doesn't work you may need to contact Cadillac and ask about the TSB concerning this problem because I know there is one out on it.
Hope this helps.
