Plugged filter or the rack is bypassing one of the clyinders but there should be no pressure there unless it's an inclosed system.

The Rack was rebuilt most likely so one of the cylinders may have started an internal leak if you put on a new one and it still leaks. Then that is most likely case, sometimes a mechanic will put on a rebuilt rather than replace it with new, it would say on your receipt. New Systems last a long time a rebuilt may last as long but not necessary.

thee is a correct method to fitting power steering hoses to prevent this It is just not a matter of putting it in and tightening it up

Hi, i have a 2000 mercury sable. i put a power steering pump in it yesterday. well for some reason i drove it it and the pressure blew the cap right of the resivor and it blows fluids out. and it still...

I got a replacement cap from RockAuto.com in a few days. You can get a new "O" ring for your cap if you can find the old one. I have used rubber bands in an emergency to seal my broken "O" ring and even a similar diameter "cap" from a beverage container with spiral clamp to keep it on?

I HAVE A 93 TOYOTA CAMRY LE V6, THAT HAS A WATER PROBLEM, THE WATER KEEPS GETTING VERY HOT, ENGINE PUSHES THE WATER OUT TO THE COOLANT RESERVOIR, LEAVING MY RADIATOR DRY. I HAVE REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT AND...

These engines will overheat for many reasons. >>make sure there is no leaks at all, as air will cause the system to overheat while losing coolant at the same time. Depending if the radiator is original or after market, there may be TWO radiator caps (one on the engine and one on the radiator)- the one on the engine usually is faulty because of direct engine heat to the seal.>> On the thermostat housing, there is an O-ring at the end of the feeder pipe, usually leaks especially if the thermostat was replaced and not the O-ring. >>Check also the hydraulic driven radiator fan>>Check power steering fluid for proper levels first. unplug the switch atop the powersteering pump, start engine, rev to 2000 rpm (fan should increase in speed-you should hear it) if not it may be faulty.>> Check system for proper flow- With engine cold, remove the engine side radiator cap and rev the engine(1000rpm) slightly, notice if the coolant is flowing. If not, possible faulty pump, or clogged radiator. Hopefully this helps

Power steeing fluid leaks

try replacing the o ring or use double o rings between the reservoir and pump, pressure builds from use and the fluid blows out of this o ring even after the vehicle is off. When the dealer replaces the pump they re-use the reservoir and o ring so the problem does not get fixed. The fluid runs down the pump and the lines to the rack, instead of washing the engine and observing where the fluid is leaking from, they replace good parts until they find the problem. Sometimes one o ring isn't enough.
