ICE POSSIBLE
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the ICE POSSIBLE message in the DIC when the outside air temperature drops below 4°C (39°F). The IPC receives a class 2 message from the body control module (BCM) indicating the outside air temperature.

The first thing that should be done ,is to have a factory or professional scan tool hooked up , an check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . All the modules on the vehicle . Shorted sensor will cause a no start condition , will bring down five volt reference circuit in the body control module . This would cause no communication with the PCM - engine computer . Do you know what serial data network is ? Your best bet mite be to take it to a qualified repair shop .

    Data Link Connector (DLC)
The data link connector (DLC) is a standardized 16 cavity connector. Connector design and location is dictated by an industry wide standard, and is required to provide the following:

    • Scan tool power battery positive voltage at terminal 16

    • Scan tool power ground at terminal 4

    • Common signal ground at terminal 5

    • Class 2 signal at terminal 2

    • High speed GMLAN serial data bus (+) at terminal 6, w/5.3L

    • High speed GMLAN serial data bus (-) at terminal 14, w/5.3L

    Class 2 Circuit Description
The data link connector (DLC) allows a scan tool to communicate with the class 2 serial data circuit. Class 2 serial data is transmitted on a single wire at an average of 10.4 Kbps. The bus is active at 7.0 volts nominal and inactive at ground potential. Each module communicating on the class 2 serial data line sends a state of health (SOH) message every 2 seconds to ensure that the module is operating properly. When a module stops communicating on the class 2 serial data line, for example if the module loses power or ground, the SOH message it normally sends on the data line every 2 seconds disappears. Other modules on the class 2 serial data line, which expect to receive that SOH message, detect its absence; those modules in turn set an internal DTC associated with the loss of SOH of the non-communicating module. The DTC is unique to the module which is not communicating, for example, when the body control module (BCM) SOH message disappears, several modules set DTC U1064. Note that a loss of serial data DTC does not normally represent a failure of the module that set it.

The class 2 serial data line on this vehicle is a star configuration. The powertrain control module (PCM) has an additional class 2 serial data circuit to BCM or to theft deterrent control module, if equipped. If one of the class 2 serial data circuits to the PCM opens, communication will not be interrupted. The following modules communicate on the class 2 serial data line:

    • The BCM

    • The communication interface module (OnStar®), w/UE1

    • The digital radio receiver (DRR), w/U2K

    • The driver door module (DDM)

    • The driver seat module (DSM), w/AAB

    • The DVD player

    • The electronic brake control module (EBCM)

    • The endgate module (EGM), for XUV

    • The engine control module (ECM), w/5.3L

    • The HVAC control module

    • The HVAC control module - rear auxiliary

    • The inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM)

    • The instrument panel cluster (IPC)

    • The liftgate control module (LGM), except XUV

    • The passenger door module (PDM)

    • The power roof module (PRM), for XUV

    • The powertrain control module (PCM), w/4.2L

    • The radio

    • The transfer case shift control module (TCSCM), w/4WD

    • The theft deterrent control module (VTD), w/BAE

If your 2002 gmc envoy or sierra will not even turn over with a kown good battery try starting it in nuetral then go back to park and try starting again. There is a park nuetral safety switch that can malfunction. Turn the key on then shift into nuetral, then turn fully to start.

SOURCE: My 2004, GMC Envoy would not start!

loose battery connection, or you left your lights or something else on then you got your jump. on the drive home the battery had a chance to charge enough to start up 10 hours later.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Envoy. Wining sound from under the car at startup.

Hello,
I suggest checking your starter motor. If the starter motor is staying engaged it could be a bad solenoid or a bad ignition switch.

I hope this helps.

The first thing I would suspect is the ignition switch, these have been known to cause all kinds of problems when they go bad. If you are handy, it can be replaced by a DIYer. Go to www.trailvoy.com and do a search on ignition switch replacement, for instructions on how to do it.

2004 GMC envoy xuv cargo dome lights not working. Looking for the fuse # for them or the problem. The other lights inside the car work. Just the back cargo area is not.

Hi,

Please open your fuse box to check if you notice any fuses that are discolored or (potentially) burnt. if you find one, that fuse might be linked to the dome lights.

To be sure, please call your local advanced auto parts to verify the fuse # is correct and then you can order the fuse through advanced autoparts.

Thank you.

How to fix my rear tailgate window

check the fuse/relay. if it is neither of these check the switch with a multimeter. If you can hear the motor trying to move the glass when you try the switch it may be the regulator needs attention. It may be the motor needs to be replaced.

check fuse and relay along with the switch first then the regulator and motor afterwards. Replacing the small electronics is obviously easier than having to open up the tailgate to check the mechanics of the winedow.
