Won't reset driver - Cars & Trucks

You need to replace the BCM. There is no reset.

Have you checked the fuel shutoff switch? it's a safety device to shut off fuel flow in case of severe front or rear impacts, but sometimes it just trips for unknown reasons. It's behind the liner on the driver's side of the trunk. Look at the round opening on top: if you can see that the red button is setting level with top of the switch it has been activated. To reset it, push the button back down until it "clicks" into place (usually 1/2 inch down or so). If it has been activated and the button will not reset the unit must be replaced, and it is a dealer only item.

try using the key to lock and unlock the drivers door, a lot of times that will reset it.

could be in the fuses

Most models with factory alarm system can be reset by locking and unlocking the driver's door with the key.

close all the doors, lock them all with the key and then unlock the drivers door with the key and start the car that should reset the theft interlock

Try putting the key in the driver's door and locking/unlocking it. This will often reset the onboard security.

TRY LOCKING DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR MANUALLY THEN UNLOCK THE PASSENGER SIDE FIRST THEN THE DRIVER DOOR IF IT IS THE SECURITY THIS WILL RESET IT AND RECONIZE THE KEY.

Some cars can be reset by turning the ignition to on and waiting a while to reset. Could be as much as 10 minutes. The light will stop flashing when it is reset. Others have a different process. If you have the owners manual it may tell how to do this.

This may work also and a lot faster.

the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it.
