Seat belt buckle on drivers side doesn't work on 2009 Pontiac Vibe AWD.

A spring popped out when I went to put on the seat belt. I can't afford a expensive repair. Is there a way I can fix it myself, even if I have to take parts from a back seat buckle? Hopefully without taking the whole seat out.

SOURCE: Seat belt repair

first for the switch in window
the window switch is easy to test you just gotta remove switch out of the door leaving it hang there is a way to test with a guaged wire with fuse on it
take the main power wire and touch to the other connectors on the main switch if the window goes down or up the switch is the problem
im suggesting this way first with fuse cause its easier then testing the windows motor inside the door frame the switches should just pop out of the panel with out haveing to take panel off

now the seat belts there are 2 style that are common to chevy
one is inside the molding of the drivers panel you gotta pop off the panels easily and gently to get at the seat belt retractor this will be bolted to the metal under the molding

the other style is in the seat which you gotta unbolt the seat under the top half it will need to be unbolted at the bottom top half of seat
when you pull threw the top section of top half of seat remember to tie a string to the end so that when you pull threw top half the string will be there so you can connect too new belt and pull back threw with ease make the string long enough to hang

now the bottom half of seat what i call the "**** seat" you remove the molding at bottom around the belt retractor this will be bolted to floor bolt also pull belt threw molding once molding removed
disconnect any electric wires

now saftey issue involved with seat belt removal is for a reason i dont know of the dealer ship always discharges the belts and air bags once removed i guess because of static electricity becareful when you remove belt and replacing belts cause static elec. can set them off
once your seat belt is removed place in card board box and take to dealer after complition of installing new belt they will discharge your seat belt for you and then you can dispose of it properly

SOURCE: how to fix a stuck seat belt VW GTI 2009

I just solved the problem for a stuck rear center seat belt in my 2002 Jetta.

Flip the base seat cushion forward against the front seat backs. Trace down along the belt to its tether point on the floor. The belt is sewn around a steel loop. The loop is anchored to a black steel hook. A thin silvery retainer plate is spring tensioned on top of the loop to prevent it from sliding off of the hook when the seat back is folded.

Therefore, you need to press the silvery retainer plate away from the hook (push up) to allow the loop to be slid from the hook. The belt was tight with the seat back in the upright position, so it was necessary to fold the seat back forward to create slack in the belt. Now push the belt loop towards the trunk and slide it off of the end of the hook (only possible with the retainer plate pushed up out of the way).

Now with total release of tension on the system via the bottom end of the seat belt being untethered and with the seat back returned to the upright position, normal extension and retraction of the belt will be reestablished. Next, simply extend the seat belt and slide the loop back into place over the floor hook. It snaps past the silvery retainer plate without all the effort required to hold the plate up during removal of the loop during disassembly.

Check again, the seat belt should be extending and retracting properly. Now just put the seat cushion back into regular position and you will be able to safely buckle up three people across the back seat.

It took about as long to do this repair as it has taken to post this answer to the problem. Note, the seat belt safety mechanism only allows normal extension and retraction of the belt when the seat back is upright.

How do i disconnect seatbelt chime mitsubishi mirage

On many cars, the seat belt sensor is also used to trigger the airbag. Investigate whether this is the case on your car before doing anything drastic to your seat belt alarm.Locate the wire under the driver seat that connects to the buckle with the release button. It should be towards the rear on the right hand side, where you plug the belt into.Follow the wire to an area under the seat where you will be able to fit your hands into.Look for two wires running together. Cut through both of them and slightly separate the ends apart.Use electrical tape to cover the wire ends so they do not short out on each other or metal under the seat.Tuck the wires away from the seat brackets so they do not get tangled if you move your seat.OR>>>>

On the side of the receptacle (where you would slide the buckle into) are two non-tamper torx screws.
Remove the screws using a hollow T10 bit.Carefully remove the plastic side cover. It contains a spring loaded slide switch.Remove the small spring and slide the switch down to its lowermost position. You can double check by watching the seat belt light on the dash go out.Replace the plastic cover and screws.Store the small spring for use in the future. This way the system thinks the buckle is always in so the light and chime won't alert at all.

Jag x type flashing code 51 which is seatbelt switch circuit fault drivers side, hw do I startto fix it? Thanks David

Codes 51 and 52 are for Front Safety Belt Buckle and Seat Track Position Switches. As X Type belts are 51 and 52, drivers side and passenger side Seat Track Position Sensors (If it's one of your AWD models) or the Driver's Seat in the Diesel (Not one on the Passenger Seat in FWD cars!) They're riveted to the seat track, so not so easy to get out! Might just need the connector cleaning up. That has worked in some cases.

09 Camry Passenger Seat Belt Light always on, with or without a passenger?

Hi Chickgamerr, There is a micro switch fitted under the cushion of the seat and another in the buckle part of the seat belt. To get to the switch under the seat will mean removing the seat, which requires the two bolts at the front of the rail and the two at the rear being removed together with the electrical connector being disconnected. Lift the seat out and turn it upside down. The problem may be there or with the buckle switch, which may be frozen. Spray a little WD 40 into it and plug in and release the buckle a number of times to free it up. Refit everything and safe motoring. Regards John

My seat belt warning lights stays on for 5 mins

I believe the light times out at 5 minutes.Sounds like the buckle switch is either defective or unplugged/possibly shorted.(can't remember if this circuit is normally open or normally closed).Try unplugging the buckle under the seat to see if the light goes out(if you are one of those that feels uncomfortable WITHOUT your belt on,you can just leave it disconnected if this fixes it).

Driver seat stuck all the way back, manual adjustment - 2009 Camry

I just had the same problem with a Toyota Corolla 2009. The seat was stuck all the way back, I could move just 1 setting "click" front and back. This happened after I picked up the car at the car wash.

I took the front seat + tracks completely out (4 14mm screws) to discover it was a QUARTER stuck in the track, near the seat belt buckle mount. That was preventing the seat to move.
