I don't know what engine you have, but some had a fuel conditioning module located close to the filter and pump. Go to the autozone website at autozone.com and register your truck. It's free and will give you access to an online repair manual for your truck. There should be info there concerning the fuel system on your particular truck/engine. That might help you figure out your next course of action. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Fuel rail pressure too low

You didn't say whether petrol or diesel engine...

In the case of trouble or doubt regarding fuel filters it is best practice to cut open the filter and carry out a close examination for possible contaminants.

Fuel pressure is important, in fact a common rail diesel won't even start if there is insufficient pressure, but the volume of fuel delivered is at least as important as the achievable pressure - without sufficient volume the required pressure simply won't be achieved.

No fuel system check is complete unless the delivery volume has been tested and found satisfactory. If it isn't satisfactory the fuel tank, the pump screen, the pump and pipework should be checked. The pump screen if fitted is so fine water will not pass through it and so water in the fuel tends to reduce the volume.

I suggest you have the fuel system checked - properly!

When going down the road my car quits and in bout 10mins starts back and go bout 6 miles and do it again

Check fuel rail pressure. Low pressure could be due to clogged fuiel filter (cheap to replace) or a defective fuel pump (not so cheap...).

Seems like the fuel line looses its fuel or something. ????? That would cause a no start or hard start problem . Your best bet , have it diagnosed by a repair shop . That is unless you want 20 different answers on here . Are you willing to replace parts your vehicle doesn't need . Testing is the only way find the problem , not guessing , that's all you'll get on here . Hooking up a professional type scan tool an checking sensor data parameters to see what is a miss . Doing fuel pressure testing ,hooking up a pressure gauge .

Possibly a busted fuel pressure regulator diaphragm. The regulator is mounted to the end of the fuel rail.
With the engine idling, pull the vacuum line off the regulator port. If gas comes out of the port, replace the regulator.

possibly 4 things 1 bad ignition coil heating up then breaking down,2 clogged fuel filter,3 weak fuel pump,4 bad throttle position sensor or map sensor to check sensors simply put on hand held scanner and look for codes. replace fuel filter replace coil pack along with tune up plugs wires put fuel pressure gauge to see if fuel pump is working properly

Motor turns over no start. going down the road and died.checked fuel pump.I can hear it and feel it run its ok. and checked fuses there ok

With these new cars, with the multiport fuel injection systems. The line pressure is over 33psi. You have to test the line pressure to make sure it isn't the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator.
You will need to verify that the car is getting good spark to the plugs and fuel to the cylinders. If there are any other symptoms let me know.

in order to diagnose problems like this much more info is needed, have you tested the electronic engine controls for trouble codes? (u will need to have the system scanned to find out these codes) if so what are those codes? the next test is to make sure the fuel pressure is not leaking down due to a defective fuel pressure check valve in the electric fuel pump located in the fuel tank, this will cause the engine to run poorly when first started, to test this u will need to buy a fuel pressure test guage tool for your car, the test port to measure pressure is on the top of the engine in the pipe that feeds fuel to the injectors, it looks like a big tire valve with a plastic cap on it, to test for fuel pressure leak down hook up the gauge and run the engine, you should have about 55-60 PSI at idle, make sure the gauge connection doesn't leak, then shut the engine off, the pressure should not drop by more than a few pounds of pressure, if it drops more than 5 PSI then u need to replace the fuel pump.

94 dodge grand caravan no fuel in fuel rail

Dear Ron, you have replaced fuel pump and fuel filter. You have checked the fuel pump relay. Still no fuel in rail. Try bypassing fuel relay with jumper from batt to fuel pump. If o/k then check computer for ground to relay. This system uses a relay that is operated by the computer that supplies a ground for the relay to operate. The wire color is green,16 gage. If the ground is not available then "no fuel" Check this with a test light. Key on and crank apply test light to ground wire and other end of light to ground. You should hear relay click and get fuel. If this checks out you will need to replace computer or get creative with rewiring the relay so it works without computer input. Good luck Moe

Just died wont start back up

It sounds like a fuel pump problem. When you first turn the key on you should hear the fuel pump run for about 5 seconds then shut off. There is a fitting on the fuel rail on the engine that looks like a tire valve, try pushing on that to see how much pressure there is after the pump runs. There should be a good amount of pressure on it. If fuel just dribbles out or there doesn't seem to be much pressure it is definaly a fuel pump. The best thing is to use a fuel pressure guage that will attach at that fitting. There should be between 45 - 60 PSI of fuel pressure when the pump is running. Good luck with your problem.
