White smoke is generally water passing through. Likely you got some in intake. Hopefully it will burn off after a few minutes. Be advised...washing engines with computer controls is not advisable as systems can get really messed up by water!!!

Sounds like water in the inlet/air fillter.dry out as much water as you can and then just let the engine tick over.if it is a diesel do not run the engine with a lot of water in the inlet because it will go bang and bend the con rods.

What causes my 1994 lexus gs300 to start smoking an running rough an cuts off. white fuel smoke.

'white smoke' is in fact steam which leads me to think your head gasket has gone which would explain the running rough. Is your coolant going down? You can hire a pressure tester for the coolant system.

White smoke is steam
Blue Smoke is oil
Black smoke is rich mixture, too much fuel

My car ran rich for about a month or two and now starated to puff white smoke

If it was burning a lot of fuel and was really rich you may have "washed out" the piston ring sealing. Repair the rich condition and change the oil.

White smoke is coolant burning. Do a compression test, to see if you have a blown head gasket.

Its a 2004 2500 4x4 6 speed 5.9 cummins. got the front end hunh up in a deep mud hole. it has very little power now and has a wineing noise the more gas you give it. dont wine when idling. when you give it...

Sounds like you either broke (small crack) or may be smashed/crimped a fuel line. White smoke in diesels means that there is not enough fuel or that there is air getting in the line some how. Don't confuse white smoke with a blown gasket, this would smoke all the time

Whenever I start the car it smokes than after warming up it stops smoking.

The key is how much smoke? Does the smoke have a smell to it. Are you consuming any fluids, like coolant, or oil?

Tons White smoke that is sweet smelling is usually coolant getting into the combustion chamber.

Less white smoke, especially if other cars are doing it, is normal. For every gallon of gas that you burn, you generate a gallon (GALLON) of water. so this water usually evaporates, but sometimes not. It has little or no smell.

If the smoke is bluish white, that is oil, but usually your converter would fill with oil, and cause error codes, or loss of power. This smell is distinct, but not necessarily sweet.... After the converter heats up, it may be able to burn off the oil and the smoke stops.

What are you consuming, fluid wise, will direct where you go next.

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.7 V-8. It burns oil aprox 1 Qt a week. The driver told me she sees white smoke from the exhaust when the A/C is on. I did not think the problem was related to...

I think, the bearing of the A/C unit jam and putting extra load on the engine or the belt that connects to the engine has dried out. Logically, A/C has no direct connection with the engine exhaust.

My 99 cougar smokes

You have to determine why it is smoking and what the smoke means. White smoke almost always means you have coolant entering the combustion chamber. The exhaust will smell sweet. I am not referring to the white smoke you see when it is cold and stops after awhile, as that is condensation. I am talking about white smoke you see when it is not cold. Stop driving the car immediately or you will have serious engine damage.
Black smoke is the result of an overly rich fuel/air mixture and can be caused by many things.
Blue smoke is an indication the engine is burning oil. Normally caused by worn piston rings.
