Sunfire temp. gauge went all the way to H(Hot) while idling in traffic (twice now)on hot days. Cooling fan does not seem to be running and coolant is not low. What runs the fan?
Sensor on the engine sends info to the computer that triggers fan relay and sends power to fan. Most often problem is sensor or relay but quick check fan itself by hot wiring it to the battery Polarity is not an issue...if you get wrong it will run backwards. If it does not run, it's bad.
Look at the main fuses.Alot of cars fans run off them. Its useally under the hood. Most of the times there on the right side above the finder well.
