Dead battery boost and remove key or put on charger and remove key then let charge after charging start vehicle and have battery and alternator tested
Car battery is dead
The entire shift mechanism should be looked at. The shifter mechanism may be worn or bent . Also the ignition switch may not be signaling the shifter inter-lock mechanism. Also, if the inter-lock mechanism is loose, out of adjustment, or damaged, the shifter may not get the signal that the brake pedal is depressed. Any of these components being worn, out of adjustment, etc, can make the ignition switch think that the vehicle is not in Park thereby allowing the key to be removed.
gm did have a recall for this problem on aprox 2.5 million vehicles a call to the dealer may/will confirm.
good luck sorry I don't have a quick fix.
Firstly, change the battery in the key fob, next, make sure the car is in park when removing key, try stepping on the brake pedal too. Next, have the ignition switch tested..the key cylinder should not be worn out on a 3-4 year old vehicle? Also verify battery has power.

You need to get one that works on the same wide range frequency as the reciever in the car, and then it's a simple matter of opening both the new and old fobs, and matching the fine frequency settings by putting the little switches inside where they should be according to the old fob's switches. If there are no switches in the old fob, it's preset and there's not much you can do about it.

Replace the hazard switch, It has the turn signal flasher built in to it.

I'm more familiar with Range Rovers and Saab's when it comes to key fobs but if you changed the battery you have to re-program the key fob. If you do not have an owner's manual that can take you through the steps you might want to try: push and hold the lock button on the key fob, put it in the driver's side door and turn to lock. With the button still depressed turn back to open, remove the key and release the button. If this doesn't work check any and all fuses associated with your system and last but not least you could take it to a dealer. Good luck!
