I have a bmw 320td, fault code 3f31 fuel pressure rail signal

I have a the code 3f31 as above, I have swapped relays over, checked the fuel pump fuse and others, changed the fuel rail sensor, unplugged the battery and reset through the ignition, plugged the diagnostic machine in and cleared it the fualt keeps coming back! the car is not running right, the turbo boosts at wrong intervals?
not sure whats up wiv it any suggestions?
