Have your fuel pump pressure checked .If it is not within specs the car will stall and also give you a lean code :)

When I start the engine and drive, after some time especially when I stop or slow down, the engine goes off. Please what should I do. Mitsubishi montero sports 2001 model. 3.0ltr engine.

Get a code reader hook it up and pull the fault codes up and see what is shutting it down. If you don't have access to a reader most parts stores will use there readers to pull codes for you and help you figure out what the problem is and sell you the parts. Auto Zone is good about this and don't charge you to pull the codes up.

What is p2197

This code means that the O2 sensor is bad. This is the first 02 sensor on bank 2, of the engine. It is stuck on a lean setting, and needs replaced. Bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that has the #1 cylinder. Bank 2 is the opposite side of the engine. Good-Day! If you have any questions on this, Im sure any auto parts store will help you out Auto-zone Etc, They will even scan a problem code for free, as long as the check engine light is on.

I failed the emission test and I also went to get an check engine light test from Auto Zone. I received the codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 and the results that I received from Auto Zone was valve...

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plugs or wires
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector(s)
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
Faulty camshaft position sensor
Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Hope helps.

I was driving my kia sedona and suddenly shut down in the middle of the street. I tried to started again and engine cranked, but did not start. By the way, the engine light check came on. Next day it...

Hi there!

It could be your Crank Position Sensor , Or Cam Position Senor. Because these two parts when they fail, The car shuts down suddenly or doesn't start at all or It start sometimes and sometimes not. And i would advice you to take the car to an auto part store like Advance or auto zone and ask then to scan the check engine light to see whats the code that was stored in the computer then bring it to see what is it exactly, and they do this service for free. Good luck Bro

Bank 1 to lean 2000 nissan ssentra

If the oxygen sensor indicates lean, the engine is lean, its not a problem with the oxygen sensor. Have a repair shop check it out and stay away from auto zone.

2001 pontiac grand am se occasionally shuts down when driving. check engine light is on!

Take the car to your local Auto Zone and ask them to scan the vehicle for trouble codes, they will scan the vehicle at no charge to you. Write the codes down and respond back to this post and we can begin problem solving.
The codes will help to narrow the system down that is causing the problem.
You might want to make sure the battery cables are clean and tight. If one of the cables has an intermittant connection problem, it will cause the car to shut down.
Good luck, let me know.
